Micko
Thanks all, Could you get back to me about that name-changing business once you discover the process in its entirety, please? I wonder if it would be possible to change the names of some relatively insignificant NPCs, too. To Ivar_the_berserk, You've just gone one technical level over my head, there. I think I know that CS = Command Script and that you probably mean finding a file in the Data folder, opening it (with Notepad?) and changing any lines that refer to the carpet with lines that say 'Shadowmere' but I have a few questions about that. The first is 'which file is would that be and where is it exactly?' The second is 'does this give Shadowmere the flying and water-crossing abilities of that carpet'? You can change names of actors using the console command: setactorfullname "newnamehere" It's easy to give your horse water walking ability using the CS, just open your horses file and from the spell lists you drag the impwaterwalk ability to your horses spell list. Ibsen3
Many thanks to Ivar and Logintodownload! That's a great little mod. To Micko, I'll get the CS soon, methinks. In the meantime, can you just confirm that I should be speaking to the NPC whose name I want to change before I bang in the console command? I take it there must be some way to identify the NPC whose name I want to change...
