TokiZensekai
Okay, this is getting a little fustrating so hopefully someone can solve this. I'm doing the Main Quest for Oblivion and have complete two of the Daedric Artifact Quests for Martin, and completed the Bruma Gate and Aid for Bruma Quest for Jaufre. However, something strange has happened. As soon as the last gate necessary for completing the Aid for Bruma quest was closed, it was immediately put in the Completed Quest section, to top this off, Martin and Jaufre aren't saying anything to continue the Main Quest, because it should of already started the next section. But it hasn't, and so now I'm stuck and unable to finish it. Does anyone know the reason for this and how to fix it?
Malchik
There are three available quests at this point. Allies for Bruma is optional. Whether you do it or not has no effect on the game. You do however have to help Burd close the Bruma gate. If you closed it yourself (though I doubt if that is even possible) you could have screwed the quest. Even so as both of those Jauffre quests are independent of the Martin quests it should not make it impossible for you to proceed with Martin You say you have two daedric items. Fine, but you have to give one to Martin. Only after you have given it to him will the next Martin quest appear. If you HAVE given him the artefact and it has not been acknowledged - not a bug I have ever heard reported before - you can advance the quest via the console. But that has dangers. Make sure you have given up the Daedric item first and get back to us.
TokiZensekai
I have given him a daedric item and I closed the gate w/ Burd. I've closed all of the other gates and collected all of the allies (they're milling about outside Burma castle) and I've gotten the armor of Tiber Septum. I went and got the Ayelid artifact on my own, but that quest wasn't given to me. And now both Martin and Jauffre just look at me w/ no new conversation options. It looks like a bug to me. ninja_lord666
It sounds to me like a bug with the Great Welkynd Stone quest. I don't know what's causing it, because I retrieved the Great Welkynd stone before I even started the main quest and there were no problems. Also, when you find all the allies for Bruma, the quest is supposed to immediately go into the completed section. The allies don't do anything until later. Malchik
Open the console and type GetStage MQ09. It should be 100. If not type Setstage MQ09 100. This completes the Tiber Septim quest. Do the same with MQ 10, the Bruma Gate, which should also be at 100. If they need adjusting, talk to Martin again. If both are correct work on MQ12. (This is the quest to get the Welkynd Stone.) To give yourself the quest is SetStage MQ12 10. However if you have already acquired the stone you may need to set a higher stage. Try 10 first though. I recommend you go to the UESP Oblivion website and look at the relevant quests. They list all the stages in detail so you will be able to complete the quest via the console. They also list known bugs in detail.
gruler
Do you have shivering isles installed? If you travel between SI and Cyrodil without using the portal in the middle of the lake but by using powers from mods, you will lose all dialogue options apart from "rumours". I hope this helps.
