doddibot
Skyrim is really cold, but your character barely seems affected by it except in blizzards. I envision a system similar to the radiation system in the Fallout games, where some areas to the north or high in mountains are really cold but going inside, wearing a nice warm outfit or huddling near a fire will warm you back up again. If you get to cold you'll first move a bit slower, then your stamina will stop regenerating, and then your health will decrease slowly. Drinking alcohol could allow you to ignore the cold debuff so you can stay out in the cold for longer. Probably a few 'warming' potions too? And I guess Nords would be less vulnerable to the cold, for the same reason as why they have frost damage resistance. Being hit with a fire spell would probably have to remove any 'cold' your character has accumulated, and being hit with a frost spell increase your 'cold' quite a bit. I guess if you can easily conjure up a firestorm, you shouldn't be forced to find a little fire to huddle around. Maybe I've watched too much Bear Grylls, but it was just a thought I had as my character swam naked between the floating pack ice.
