Greetings, I would like to introduce myself, since I forgot to do so earlier the other day when I registered, since my main aim was to start the work on a graphical project for Skyrim soon. Why a graphical project? I'll answer shortly, whenever I look at those shabby 512x512 textures, I barely manage to resist from throwing up on my keyboard (yes, I said keyboard, not joystick). Skyrim was a major disappointment for me, story-wise, aestethically-wise and UI-wise (the interface is the thing that I hate most), the other fact that I didn't liked is that Bethesda didn't released the Creation Kit along with the game, but anyhow, I await it with eagerness to start and improve the game for other fans, that like me, started to lose faith in Bethesda across these years.

Now, I'll tell you something about me.

My name is Claudio, I am 18 years old, I live in Rome and I study linguistics and CG design. I contributed to some mods by doing the texture job, like the 1257 AD mod for Mount and Blade: Warband (1.134)and the AllNatural mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R Clear Sky (you can still find me hanging at the Stalker Mod Repository). I discovered Morrowind in 2003, when I found it installed on my father's computer, and I remember spending my nights (without my parents knowing about it) playing at it, and I still remember how scary it was when I found my first Dwemer Spectre in a Dwemer Ruin up north, I played Morrowind for about 7 months, until I discovered the Construction Set within the game directory, at first I wasn't understanding nothing, but with a bit of trial and error, I created my first house in Morrowind (by cloning an interior cell, and changing the teleporter), it was a very simple mod, lacking any kind of fancy stuff like new models or such. Two months later I created myself a castle, on the island west of Seyda-Neen (the place where you start, I love that place, and I still occasionally enter in Morrowind just to hear the speech that Soccucius Ergalla makes you when you dock at the harbor, epic moment), it had everything, beds, lighting, new models which I had created in Maya 5.0 and NPCs.

By 2006 I was creating mods for personal use for myself in Oblivion, and occasionally sharing them with friends, no matter what platform (the PS3 cannot run mods) it was. I won't say how I did it because it'll make me break the rules of this community, regarding 'modding consoles'. Oblivion was a major disappointment for me, mainly due to the 'cut' that Bethesda made in the various items that existed in Morrowind (Spears anyone? And how about Shurikens? Lets not even talk about the Dwemers, a Dwemer ruin in East Cyrodiil would have been perfectly within lore), I was disappointed by Oblivion. I continued to make my experience better and better with mods that I created with the CS, mostly castles and homes, and scenic locations. Unfortunately, I never released nothing, since I didn't wanted my work to be plagiarized.

2007, I finished the Main Quest of Oblivion, I wasn't impressed by the ending. The DLCs didn't saved the game, fellow modders did. The merit for people still playing Oblivion belongs solely to the modding community, and not to Bethesda's DLCs.

December 2010, Skyrim is announced on Bethblog. My jaw dropped on the floor, my cat started to stare at me (I love cats, funny animals) like 'What the hell is wrong with you?'. March 2011, I preordered the Collectors Edition of Skyrim for PC, already knowing that it would have ruined my social life. November 2011, the bitter surprise that I ever had. Skyrim was an even major disappointment from Oblivion, I didn't got catched, it was a bad console port (and I'm not the random newbie that joined during the Crisis of Oblivion just to see that old monk sacrifice himself because he was too slow to get to the Temple of the One in time), with some very horrible textures. Yes, the game is nice from the gameplay point of view, nice shaders and everything, but the shadows and the textures look like they were made by a group of incompetent bunch of developers. As DICE said 'Consoles are slowing down PC game development', I couldn't have agreed more.

The interface in Skyrim is horrible, but it can be fixed easily by modding it. (Where's the CK already?)

On the real life side of the things, I practice Krav Maga and Sambo, and I love history, especially when its related to the Middle Ages. As I said to a member that I added into the group of the 'Skyrim Texture Pack Project', I visited Sweden, Sweden for me is the most beautiful country on Earth, it has a very interesting history, nice people, good food and good looking women. And lets not forget the House of Folkung, which was the most famous Nordic House during the Middle Ages, which had in its ranks numerous important people, going from simple soldiers to Jarls.

Right after that I returned from Sweden, I bought Jan Guillou's 'Arn the Templar' saga (there are four books), after that a Swedish teacher suggested it to me. I didn't read a better book, I suggest it to everyone, since it is very nice. There is also a film, also called 'Arn the Templar'.

Well, this is all, if you have questions, feel free to ask.
