will Steam re-install a missing TESV.exe file?

I did this procedure so Skyrim would use more than 2GB of my RAM.

Unfortunately, I did not save an original TESV.exe file which apparently you need for updates. (the tutorial didn't mention it till the very end)

So if I just move the altered TESV.exe file out of the Skyrim folder , will Steam see it's missing and install a new TESV.exe?

thanks.

Just put your CD back in and in the setup press 'Reinstall'. Steam will then check the integrity of your install, and will address your issue by downloading the game. (Strangely, it won't install from the disk. Kudos to internet activation of Skyrim.)

Go to your Steam icon and right-click on Library.

Go to Elder Scrolls Skyrim.

Right-click and go to properties.

navigate to Local Files

Click Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

Let Steam update your missing file.
