Jermungand
The manual tells you that you can rotate the pick and use A and D to rotate the lock. Oh yeah. THANKS manual, that's REALLY helpful. I have absolutely no clue what to look/listen for when rotating the pick. Is there a specific sound I'm supposed to hear that means it's now OK to turn the lock? In short I know I can rotate the pick and the lock, but there's no explanation WHATSOEVER about how one actually goes about BEATING THE MINIGAME. Any help would be great. MikhailFaulken
Rotate the pick, then gently rotate the lock to check for the sweet spot. If you succeed, it unlocks. If you hit a snag, move the pick a little and rotate the lock again.

MikhailFaulken
Be careful, because master and expert locks have a pixel-sized sweet spot! :P
Y0kenB
Before you try to pick a lock, make sure that you have indeed got lock-picks in your inventory.(picks are selected automatically and you don't need to select them manually when picking locks) The referenced controls are for PC only, but you should get the idea for other platforms. There are 2 actions to perform when picking a lock. 1) the lock needs to be rotated Left or Right (this can be done by pressing your A and D keys) 2) the pick needs to be rotated Left or Right (this can be done by moving your Mouse left or right) To successfully pick the lock you need to place the pick in a specific angle before trying to move the lock.If you can' t move the lock to a complete horizontal line, you will need to alter your angle of the pick slightly.Once you can rotate the lock to a complete horizontal position, you have successfully picked the lock. If you put too much pressure on the pick trying to force the lock into a horizontal position, you will break the pick and need to start again with a new pick. This system is rather fantastic, as you can still pick master locks even if your only a novice at lock picking, though it might take more picks to get right. Hope you come right :)

babis8142
Here's an advice. When you rotate the pick, tap a to start pushing with the knife. But just tap it. If the lockpick shakes (without you moving it with the mouse) then it's not the right spot.
