Skyrim books as audiobooks

Hi, I love the Elder Scrolls universe and all the lore that comes with it, but I can bet you a few septims I'm not alone when it comes to reading books in Skyrim; it's simply boring and halts progression and game flow.

I don't want to stop and read a book of several pages in between fights, and even if I brought the book home, I'd rather be out fighting bandits than sitting at home reading. So why not listen to the books WHILE you're fighting bandits?

This is a shot in the dark since I have absolutely no idea how hard/easy it is to make some sort of audio player inside the game, with simple play/pause buttons to go with it. It might not be possible at all. But if it is, then I think it would be a blast wandering around Skyrim whilst listening to the tales and lore the universe has to offer.

This would probably give players an incentive to start hunting more rare books and books they still haven't listened to. In my mind this is a really fun and interesting mod, but I'd like to hear what you think :)

I also realize that recording all the books is a s#*! ton of work and while I do own a good microphone myself, I'm not a native English speaker and my voice might not suite a lot of people, but beggars can't be choosers :/

Any kind of response is appreciated :D

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46088 read books aloud does this,

Thanks a lot! I had missed this mod completely.

It wasn't very clear in the description of the mod, but it seems like they at least have all books in the text-to-voice option, but I can't really see if any voice actor has actually recorded them.

I might just give it a shot myself just for fun :)

thanks again for the link!

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm posting here again to inform that no one is currently developing the mod "read book Aloud" and there is barely any info or help to get when it comes to making your own pack with audio books.

So I guess I'm sort of requesting anyone to help me figure out just how this stuff works, I think what I don't get is how to install the script which tells the game to play a certain audio file once you open a book.

EDIT, I actually got it working!!! If anyone wants to know how send me a message, It wasn't super difficult after all (I hope I haven't missed something D: ) .
I might throw together a video even. And I'll also get back to work on recording more books :)
