blessingwindwalker
I have decided to use the creation kit to place player homes in my game. They need to be completely empty as my intention is to use them for random starts and decorating mods. I've gotten as far as trying to delete items from my duplicate home but I was wondering if there was a way to just delete all of the items at once. I keep deleting floors and such as my skills with the mouse are not very good. I've checked out 4 or 5 tutorials that all seem to point to deleting them one by one. One tutorial showed how to delete them all from the item menu but he didn't explain how he did it. In short, I don't know what button to push. Any help would be appreciated. One tutorial showed how to delete them all from the item menu but he didn't explain how he did it. In short, I don't know what button to push. Any help would be appreciated. 1. Open up your copy of the cell in the CK, and find the Cell View window2. Look in the right pane of the window and find the Type column3. Click the header (the top) of this column to sort all items in the cell by the type of item they are4. Once all items are sorted this way, click the first item of a specific type you want to remove (such as Book or Potion or whatever)5. With the first item highlighted, scroll down the list until you find the end of what you want to delete, hold down the shift key and click this last item6. All items in between the 2 clicks will highlight in blue7. Press the delete key and you'll get one or more warnings (especially if items are quest linked), say yes and the items will be deleted. Be somewhat careful in step 4 - the specific items you want to delete vs those you want to save will be mixed in the Static category listing. That will require some hand editing after the mass deletions so you don't hit some of the wall and floor pieces you want to keep. You can use the Control key to selectively deselect specific items if you do a mass select for deletion with the mouse - clicking highlighted items in both the Render and Cell View windows with the control key held down will deselect a specific item. Also, note that deleted items will still be listed in the Cell View, but with an * after their name to indicate they have been modified. If you've loaded the cell in the Render Window, any deleted objects will disappear from that window. You can of course select more/less items in steps 5 and 6 depending on how safe you're feeling with mistakingly deleting something you didn't want to. Sorting by type in step 3 lets you select large lists of items quickly so you'll know what you want to delete or not delete.
blessingwindwalker
Thank you so much! this is a huge help. It's funny things that seem simple enough are often the very things that trip you up the most. Thanks again for your help.
