Stuttering - is it mod related?

I've been trying to find out if my stuttering is being caused by mods.

I've played fallout 4 in this computer before even with some mods and it was fine, but ever since i had to repair my windows my game has been stuttering. (I've downloaded more mods as well)

 

EDIT: it is a new save. I'm trying checking my game cache right now.

There are thousands of mods for fallout and million combinations possible. No one can help you for sure. Just deactive half of them and see what has changed. Keep eleminating by packs till you find the problem. Only possible trouble mods i can think of in this list is raider overhaul, spring cleaning or red rocket overhaul and i don't think you need double homemaker disabler.

I'm not sure but i have the suspicion that raider overhaul was causing stuttering in my game. I tried using that mod twice. Twice i had stuttering. While without it it's smooth.

Maybe it was a leveled list conflict i was overlooking. I really don't know.

 

You have way too many mods. Issues are bound to occur.

 

Use LOOT and fo4edit to try and fix issues with load order and mod conflicts.

 

But ultimately ask yourself: do you really need all those mods?

I had 158 mods installed and my game was very unstable. Now i'm down to 90+ and all is well.

Check the Raider Overhaul page, he said there is a known issue he is working on it, seems to effect some people randomly.

Oddly I was running 200+ mods (including all of his and 2k textures) on a potato and never had a problem.

 

I've upgrade my PC due to my love affair w/ FO4 and still don't have the issue, but a number of people report it.

Normally super mutant / raider overhaul is in my top 25% and that might make a difference.

Also corrected any record conflicts, since he adds a ton of stuff.

I uninstalled raider Overhaul, I still get stutter, but it's more bearable. but still, my game froze at some point.

Just for fun drag your textures folder from the fallout\data leaving all mods active and see how game behaves. If that helps you have too much loose files that your system\fallout engine can't handle well. There is a solution in that case but try it first.

okay, so i reinstalled all mods and made sure they're installed properly now. looks like all my problems are fixed.
