sankojin
So I am making a pistol now for fallout 4 and after making my sword I know a lot about putting none animated weapons into fallout but no idea about pistols that have a slide animation and such with it. My question is if I use a nif file and just plug my trishapes into those corresponding slots will my pistol follow that animation of the other gun? IE if I have a sig 9mm and I match the parts in a nif file to a 1911 will my sig slide function like it should or will I have to adjust the animation to fit my gun? I just want to know what kind of mess I am getting into. My pistol still needs to be uv unwrapped and textured which should only take me a few days but while I am doing this was hoping for some insight into this. If its just a plug and play awesome if not would love some tips or tutorial on how to do this if one has already been made.
maxgame
All weapon mods (for now) must be modified to fit the animation if you don't want clipping. Now if it fits the hands and animations, great.

Been pretty straight forward but how do I get the sights to line up and how do I modify the animation to fit my gun?
FlyDungas
You have to modify your gun to fit the animation not the other way around

Hallgarth
Also, you have to make sure the parts align up to the nodes, for example, if you use the 10mm as a base, the animated nodes (such as trigger, magazine etc) must be in the same place, or it will move it into the animation position and might literally pull your gun apart when held.
