Durability on Armor Pieces

So it has always bugged me that they removed the entire durability system from Fallout 4 that was present in the two previous games (and maybe earlier but I haven't actually played those). While I can understand not having durability on weapons to a certain extent, I have never really understood why they got rid of armor durability. It would still work perfectly well with the new systems of the game and it would compliment Survival mode very well indeed. What I have in mind is a system that would apply damage to specific armor pieces as they took more damage until they eventually would break and need to be repaired at a work bench. I would also make certain armors (mainly early game armors) have fairly low durability in survival mode to encourage players to aim for the weakest armor on their opponent to add an extra layer to approaching a fight and to selecting which parts to target in V.A.T.S. This certainly would not be for everyone but I believe that there is a fairly large crowd of people who would enjoy this extra layer of challenge and armor management.
