Nightingale no cloak...

hi all, this is the first time ive ever asked if anyone would be interested or able at this stage in modding anything for a game, usually once the mod kits are out ill try and figure such stuff out myself by using other mods etc. but this is way beyond em at this stage.

so what im hoping for is that some talented person would be able to remove the cloak form the nightingale armour and make the male colours all match like the females do.

i think its an amazing design for a rogue, but its ruined by putting a bad non physics cape over all the detail that just hugs you, so if i could see the armour without it, it would make it far more enjoyable, so yeah, if anyone is feeling upto it, that is, if its even possible without the full mod kits etc, a nightingale male armour with no cloak or atleast shorter cloak would be amazing, and as its my 29th (holy ccrap im nearly 30!) birthday today it would be a nice present lol.

cheers and thanks

Tony

I was just about to come in and request this. The armor is beautiful, perfect rogue stuff.....except for this cape...what am I? Super-Rogue? If any ingenious modders could so kindly eliminate this ugly rag from the back of the armor, I would be very, very happy.

I'd love to see a version of this that replaces the cloak with more of a wrap/scarf like thing, so the lack of physics doesn't hurt the look of it but it still makes sense when you have the hood on.

Speaking of the hood, it'd be awesome if there was a version with the hood down, as in still equipped but hanging down behind the character, without the mask on it.

I looked into this via Nifskope, and unfortunately it'll be a while before anything like it is possible.

The armor and cape are all one mesh, which requires importing into 3ds max, removing the cape there, re-skinning the model onto the texture, then exporting it back out to Nifskope correctly, rather than just deleting the cape in Nifskope, saving the file and calling it a day. And since we don't have any current way of importing the Skyrim meshes into 3ds max, that is the main problem.

ah shame, but i feared as much, thanks for looking into it for us, i appreciate the effort, its just damn annoying how even the model they show in the inventory doesnt have it then you get this ugly ass cape lol, ah well tis growing on me, anychance theres a way to remove the limit of only upgrading it to flawless ? same with the bow ?, thanks once again.

Personally, I'm sorta seconding the idea of making it a scarf/muffler kinda deal. It gives it that nice flowing-in-the-wind appeal without looking totally barren. Even better still would be if the ends of the scarf were tattered and torn up a bit. Think 'Shinobi', just without the exaggerated scarf-length.

a scarf would be a cool look for it, and if i knew what programs to use id try this myself, but dont, but i read on another post someone suggesitng instead of removing the cloak, that possibly just retexturing it could work ? so you change a section of the cloak to a transparant texture with a ripped like edge ? and leaving the impression of a short or no cloak ?

as i said ive no idea if this would be possible, and if someone could point me at the programs id even give it a try myself, but would be intrigued to know if this could work, seeing as ive been wearing this armour for somthing like 40 hours now and will probably til im done with skyrim, it would be cool to have it look a bit better form the back :P

thanks
