Static objects with multiple textures/UV maps

I'm working on creating a hacked version of an existing static asset, basically an exterior vault door. The original NIF has three distinct groups of geometry that use three different BGSMs. Naturally, these import into the modeler as separate mesh objects. No problem there.

 

But when I use Export Selected on those three, export as NIF from 3DSMax and run it through Elric.exe, NifSkope shows the resulting NIF with only one of the three pieces.

 

So how do I combine the three? Do I link them together in MAX, or combine them using a NifTools utility?
