Shadowclaimer
I would like to see a Dragoncall Shout that is a custom power you learn once you've completed the main storyline. Basically you choose from a series of words to determine the power, size, and such of a dragon which would appear to fight you. IE: Arise (Alok) Weak (Sahlo)Great (Lot)Strong (Mul)Mighty (Sahrot)Fierce (Norok)Glorious (Morokei)Ancient (Kruziik) Fire (Yol)Ice (Iiz)Shadow (Vokun)Earth (Gol)Forest (Feykro)Tempest (Kest)Wind (Ven)Sea (Okaaz)Steel (Dwiin)Gold (Yuvon)Bone (Qeth)Mountain (Strunmah)Blood (Sos) Dragon (Dovah) When you use the shout an interface appears, Alok and Dovah would always be in the interface, the other two words are chosen (all the words must be found somehow). When you finish the shout you click "shout" or what have you, and it uses the combination of words you chose to summon a dragon of that type. So Alok Kruziik Kest Dovah, would be "Arise, Ancient Tempest Dragon" and summon an Ancient Tempest Dragon to fight you.
DeadxPixels
Dragon AI-Also as a side-note I feel like dragons should try to flee if they are too damaged. Every other creature in skyrim will try to surrender or flee if too damaged except dragons. Seems a bit unrealistic imo. Edit 2: Also though of a player ability to combat dragon fear. Perhaps an active called "Rally" or something to that affect, which will make npc's immune to dragonfear for a set duration. The effectiveness of this should be based on how many dragons you have slain. The basis behind this is the more dragons you have slain the more people feel confident of your abilities and are willing to follow you into battle. I don't think dragons would try to fly away if hurt. I imagine they would be like a typical viking: die fighting, running away is cowardly. I like the idea of dragon fear.. why would anything/one nearby come join the fight ? Unless they've heard of me taking down so many dragons.. or in the case of creatures, they're big like giants/mammoths. And my suggestion dragon fights, I would LOVE it if they would occasionally grab me up or other beings and throw me some distance away! I wonder why they didn't include something like that :/ is it sad that in skyrim bears posses more of a challenge then a dragon i think so LOL I know right? Bears and those sabre cats are some of the toughest fights ever! Dx (if I can't find high land)I'm glad they're not smart enough to jump! *hides atop rock* Edited November 20, 2011 by DeadxPixels
ASNZern
I propose dragons enter Blood Lust when their Health drops low. Faster Atk speed, hits harder, and lashes out at everything nearby. As for Dragon Fear. Instead of making it Passive or Active abilities, make it like this.Every character has a Fear meter, or something. When he/she/it is close to a Dragon, Fear Meter slowly goes up. If he/she/it is attacked by a dragon (swiped, fire-breathed at, etc), Fear Meter jumps up. When the Meter reaches a certain point, random or a different for each individual, he/she/it turns tail. After awhile, Fear Meter drops, and he/she/it may re-enter the fight.
BeakieHelmet
I like the blood lust idea, and the dragon fear thing is something that needs to happen. When a dragon attacks just outside of Windhelm, and the dark elf girl from Hlaalu farm runs at the dragon wearing no armor and holding an iron dagger... and she SURVIVES... something is seriously wrong. Dragon fear is sorely needed. Just skimming this topic, I think there's a few things that could be added in pretty easily. 1) Give the dragons their swoop down and pick people up ability back. This never happens outside of scripted scenes, I've noticed. It should happen all the time, to guards, to your beloved horse, even to you if you don't sprint out of the way. What inspires you to really kick a dragon's ass more than seeing them swoop down and drop your horse to it's death? 2) Decrease the hitbox, and allow players to get closer For some reason, there's a ring around the dragon that prevents you from getting right up next to it, I guess so that you don't clip through the wings when they turn. They SHOULD probably knock you down when they turn, they should knock you around easily, they weigh how much more than you? Give some of their attacks a knockdown effect that can be countered with a shout that keeps you steady. 3) Make getting close to them generally a bad idea, but one you have to do. Again, they weigh how much? Why don't they just step on you? And they never punch you with a wing, or throw you all the way back to windrun with a swipe of their tail? The reason why dragons are so easy to fight in this game is that they never attack you like a rational being their size would, they attack you with little nips and the occasional dragonbreath. They never just nudge you down and step on you like they should. Once in a while, they SHOULD make a tailsweep when surrounded and try to take off again if they can. 4) Make certain weapons deal no damage unless they hit specific points, and make other weapons deal less damage Having to aim for the face, legs or wings with your arrows, and treating dragons as "armored" for the purposes of axes/maces/swords could definitely work. Actually, a REALLY COOL effect could be having to bash through the scales first, break apart their exterior armor before being able to damage them at all, and then focus on that one bleeding scale-stripped spot or make another if you can. At least with blood dragons or higher. Now, all this makes dragons pretty overpowered, right? Well, that's the thing, they should be. After you get a certain shout in the main quest, dragons become one of the easiest enemies in the game. Dragons you meet in the wild should make you panic, should make you ask "Okay, can I take this bastard on or should I run and hide?" Even with all of these enhancements, I don't think Dragons will pose a problem to anyone level 30 or 40. Another thing... You shouldn't be fighting a dragon alone. You should be able to recruit a band of followers to hunt dragons with you, overwhelm them with numbers. Not named followers, brave souls from Whiterun, the Legion, the Stormcloaks, or whoever you're allied with or thane of. These followers should ONLY hunt dragons and folks on the overworld map with you, never entering a dungeon or anything like that. They could probably lug siege weapons with them if you don't mind them being slow, but I think that would just add to the buildup.

Miriandandes
The only meaningful idea I have to add to this: Dragons don't use magic, they use shouts. That gout of flame? That beam of frost? Those are shouts. An example of this would be Alduin in the very beginning of the game. He uses three shouts in quick succession: one to summon meteors from the sky (add this for the player pls), the basic pushy shockwave, and of course the fire breath. My point: Make it so the older / stronger the dragon, the more shouts he has. I'd like to see a dragon knock people away with a shockwave, disarm them, become ethereal, and call lightning from the sky.Makes perfect sense, too. Shouts originally belonged only to the dragons, so why do we so seldom see them used?

If the dragons could swoop down and pick you up: imagine having to constantly be scanning the sky for the dragon to see if its diving you for a grab? And then having to sprint out of the way or something that'd be really cool. And your point about having the dragon kill your horse providing motivation to kill it is a really good one. Despite me wanting dragons to be more powerful, we have to remember that were we to make dragons as powerful as they actually are in real life (yes I said that) then a measly human wouldnt stand a chance. The dragon would just slaughter us with a stomp of its foot. So in order for us to be able to beat the dragon, it is always going to be a little unrealistic ie the dragon clawing us and our player NOT flying across the ground. An easy way to make fighting them harder would be to have them not ever land until you've broken their wings (with arrows/magic etc). Until you do that, they are free to fly, dodging your arrows/magic and blasting you from the air with their Shouts. Once you did enough damage to their wings and had them on the ground, then you really start doing the damage. As it is now, since the dragon is on the ground so often as it is, you can deal tons of damage to it rather easily. If it stayed in the air longer, it'd be harder to kill.
