Opinions about Mods

Hey guys,

I had completed Oblivion upto the Defense of Bruma quest (had already closed all the town Gates and got all the help from them) when I got the Shivering Isles. I pretty much abandoned the MQ to play SI and have gotten upto where Sheogorath turned into Jyggalan(sp) when now I have KoTN. Just installed that and started a new game (lol) and was just wondering if you guys thought I should use a mod such as OOO or MMM instead. I say instead because I'm not sure if either of those are compatible with KoTN (what I've read about OOO doesn't mention it really). Well, I did read something about some possible conflict with Spell Tomes (which is included in KoTN) and OOO.

LoL, I know it probably sounds like I can't seem to focus on one thing at a time but I do really love this game and want to do it all!

Any advice would be welcome and TIA.

On a personal note, I have abandoned OOO, but I still use MMM on occasion. I found that OOO gimped too many things to be to my liking. Yes the added content is just amazing and I’m very surprised, as it changes the entire face of the game (mostly in a positive way), but some things (like how he drastically gimped the gray fox shawl) really unimpressed me.

Both MMM and OOO work just fine with “Knights”, though I must say with the most recent ‘patches’, OOO + MMM = major crashville, where as with vanilla Oblivion I never receive crashes.

Just using MMM doesn’t gimp the appearance of spell tomes as I find them quite often, but they are leveled like all things (of course). I would always recommend OOO for anyone who’s already beaten Oblivion five ways from Friday and whishes to make the game ‘fresh’. First use just OOO, then MMM separately, and then together in a third game.
