RoyBatterian
Does anyone have a good technique for creating a pip-boy worldspace map? I've tried the built in function for GECK but it's output is very pixelated and small. I saw a post from Thiaxun (sp?) about this before but I can't find it now. mindboggles
IIRC In the Geck I positioned the camera high up in the editor window looking pretty much straight down on the worldspace and took screenshots with and without the cell borders, then I just put them together in GIMP using the border image screenshots for reference. RoyBatterian
Thanks mindboggles, did you do that for each cell or multiple at once?
mindboggles
I took the screenshots so that they would each overlap trying to compensate for the changing perspective of the buildings. I did have to do a bit of cut and paste to fix up parts of it. http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag209/Mindboggles/Dalekmap1B_zpsfjjilwxt.png
Ladez
When doing that, press 0 on the number row on your keyboard (not the numpad) to switch to orthographic with no vanishing point. Although beware that turning off orthographic view messes up the render window to the point that you have to close the GECK or return to orthographic to restore it. RoyBatterian
I'll try in orthographic mode then. Yes I hate that the lighting gets screwed up in that mode when trying to return to normal 3D mode. I asked hlp if he could make a function in power up to completely reinitialize the render window, but he didn't respond.
ManehattanProject
We did a series of vertical screenshots all stitched together and then used the rough terrain outlines with the roads done by hand. My Creative Asset Director informed me that a most horrible death awaited me if he ever had to do it again.
