Enderman121
I've had an idea for a mod bubbling inside my head for a while now, focusing on the system of power armor upgrades the player has available and can use e.g. Tesla Coils, Jet Pack, Motion Assisted Servos. While there are a number of such on the Nexus, none really achieve the corporeal, real impact I would like to see in gameplay. The possibilities of such modifications are sky high, and this is why I make this topic;not only as a way to perhaps reach out to artists and programmers who might help me reach this goal, but also as a discussion board where others might share ideas they have as well. With the introduction done, I would like to share two ideas which I would like to see implemented into the game, and which I feel others would like to see added as well. First is what is commonly known as a Pile Bunker; a piercing weapon in popular culture typically affixed to mechs or heavy armor for stabbing into tough foes. This weapon would be a perfect fit, I feel, for Fallout as weapons such as the Power Fist and Ripper have a similar mechanical aesthetic, and function. Imagine landing the metal stake right into a Mirelurk's tough carapace, or earning the deathblow on a Deathclaw with it as well.http://ravenrepublic.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/10127709a11.jpgThe other idea I have to share is that of helmets. I am a competent artist and like to picture the sort of helmets the denizens of post-apocalyptic America might make with the scrap material at their disposal. Below I have provided a design of several such armors, based off both already-existing power armor, and monsters in the Fallout canon. I hope whomever comes across this post decides to share some ideas, or perhaps even take an interest in helping me. https://gyazo.com/35a0d2656eeee67f60d0100f9b46ec12 Edited July 3, 2016 by Enderman121
Enderman121
Here are some upgrade tiers I thought up for the Pile Bunker as well, some of which might be exclusive to certain power armors only. : Rusty PrickAvailable for: Raider Power ArmorMaterials: 10x Steel, 5x screws, 2x adhesiveDescription: The most basic Pile Bunker available, The Prick is what amounts to little more than a railway spike soldered unto the forearm of the Power Armor in question, reinforced by a few scraps of sheet metal hastily welded to the sides. As shoddy a craftsmanship as it may seem, the Prick is a reliable alternative for low-level raiders or scavengers looking to gore an enemy without equipping a melee weapon. Comparable to that of a power fist in striking speed and strength, this weapon holds the advantage in causing bleed status, and drawing extra power from the suit's fusion core. : Railway DriverAvailable for: T-45, T-51, T-60 Power ArmorMaterials: 20x Steel, 15x Adhesive, 5x Oil, 5x Gears, 5x Screws, 2x Nuclear MaterialDescription: A definite improvement upon the Prick, the Railway Driver operates on the same core system as that of the Railway Rifle; sans throwing, however, it shoots a retractable spike using a series of pistons and controlled explosions to push the stabbing implement at high velocities forward. Placed on the underside of the forearm, the pilot of the Power Armor can unleash a devastating uppercut if sufficiently charged, and a potent punch for a normal melee attack. This Driver is recommended for users dealing wih threats of Gunners, Mirelurks, and the occasional Super Mutant skirmish. : Pneumatic PiercerAvailable for: T-60, X-01 Power armorMaterials: 30x Aluminum, 15X Steel 20x Adhesive, 10x Oil, 10x gears, 5x Fiber Optics, 5x Silver, 5x Nuclear MaterialDescription: The gold-standard for Pile Bunkers, the Pneumatic Piercer is capable of such high-velocity attacks it can only be properly wielded by T-60 and X-01 frames. A no-nonsense gauntlet, it is propelled forwards by a highly advanced system of servos and chemical reactions to launch the diamond-hard spike into any defense. Able to cut through Mirelurk like butter, and Deathclaw hide with relative ease, Raiders turn to bloody bits in a single blow. The only downside to this weapon is the drain it puts on the suit's Fusion Core, each strike ever so slightly chipping away at the remaining fuel.
