dubiousintent Posted July 3, 2016 Share Posted July 3, 2016 Adding mods is "generally" safe. It's removing them that is bad, because they leave behind remnants in the save game files. Not merely missing items, but also scripts and quests. If you do add a mod, note the last save file just before you do, so you can revert back to it if you decide to remove the mod later after testing. ALWAYS test before you commit to progressing in your game. I rebuild my Bashed Patch file all the time without any worries, primarily due to updates to existing mods. It doesn't renumber Form-IDs, which is something that can cause problems if you allow it while manually creating a manually "merged patch" or "merged plugin" file. But I also add mods occasionally, such as the "New Vegas Bounties" series as my character advances.
