mcfloatie
I have a question... when you take all of your gold out of your inventory, and u put it back in, take it out, etc, does it decrease your encumbrance mysteriously? It does for me, and i did it once to be able to carry more stuff, but i can't get it to go back. Does anyone know the script function that controls your encumbrance? If i knew that, i could take everything off of my person and set it to zero in the console. I don't know if this helps any, but i have the more treasure plugin installed, which changes the icon for gold, so i dont know if htat changed any of the gold's properties. If there isnt a function to control it, van someone tell me how to set it back? thanks!
cmac
Gold has no weight, unless you are mistaking actual gold (drakes) for Dwemer coins, which are worth 50 gold and weigh 0.1.
mcfloatie
I'm well aware that it has no weight, which is why it is strange when i drop my approximately 4500 gold (slightly new char), i lose about 80 or so pounds, then when i pick it back up, i gain no weight, put it back down, and i lose more weight, etc. The reason I'm even asking for this info in the first place is because i believe that i sent the zero point for encumbrance into hte negatives, because when i pick up stuff when i have nothing on me, except gold, it stilll stays zero and stays so until i get so much weight on myself that it starts showing up in the enc. bar. Kethruch
You can set the gold to whatever weight you wish in the editor, there's just one problem - it gives you weights for 1, 5, 10, 25, and 100 gp units. The other thing to keep in mind is that the weight that you are seeing as your carry weight is not the actual sum of everything you are carrying, but your starting weight plus and minus the weights that you have picked up and put down. Now, put these two together, and this is what happens. When you pick up the gold, it comes in with the weights attached to it because you are getting it in the units that you have set the weights for. When you get money from a vendor, or for completing a mission, it actually comes in in groups of the above units, not all at once. Thus increasing your weight accordingly and correctly. Now, you drop all of your gold. All of the units of weight for all of the gold that you've picked up are subtracted from your wieght - so far this is going correctly. But, because it is now all in one pile, it is now a pile of 4500 coins - which does not have a weight attached to it, therefore, the weight is 0, which is what is added on to your total. If you drop it again, it registers as 4500 single pieces of gold being dropped again, but picking it up does it as a group, and no weight is added again. You can actually use this to have negative encumbrance after a while. Look in the TESCS under items and see if the gold is set to an amount for weight. Reset the weight to 0, and the problem should be solved. (I learned all of this while I was trying to make a mod where money had weight to keep everyone from walking around with a million gold in their pockets). Hope this helps.
