ERASERhead1
http://www.geforce.com/Optimize/Guides/five-fast-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-tweaks-guaranteed-to-make-your-game-look-even-better Copy and Paste this link for help with shadows, especially if you're rocking NVidia. Scroll down to SkyrimPrefs advice and follow their instructions... made a world of difference. Plus, I dunno how many of u guys like 3rd person as mush as I do, but as far as I'm concerned "3rd person animation fix" and all the other tweaks starting with "third person..." are a must Most of what I've seen shows people adjusting their FOV 80+ to see their arms more... if you dig third person, push the "~" button in game and type in "FOV 50" and "enter"... I've been loving that
ERASERhead1
guys, hit me back if any of this helps, especially the sharpening tweak on your tv's... I'm very curious cuz it's helped a few guys already...
MShoap13
Changing the sharpening on your monitor may make this bug less noticeable but it's far from what I'd call a fix or even a workaround for the issue... I'm looking into the nVidia config settings as I type this however. Edit: No new information in the nVidia guide... ERASERhead1
I hear ya Soap, and I appreciated your feedback on my thread as well... I was careful not to call it a "fix"... I said this almost completely remedied the problem to the point where it's barely perceptible... you can argue semantics if you'd like, I'm just trying to help... give it a shot and let me know though cuz like I said, I'm interested if this will help anyone else. jcaum
Hey guys, not sure if you still care about this issue, but tr15tanp here had settings that fixed the issue ( ). in skyrimprefs.ini, set the following to the values below: iShadowMapResolution=3072iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=3072iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=3072iBlurDeferredShadowMask=7 You may want to tweak with this on lower powered systems to get some better performance. But these 4 are what I set and now the bands are gone, and dynamic shadows actually look good - like in caves with hanging lights, the sun moving, etc. It used to look like bands of wood... like everything was made of wood... but now its a smooth shadow effect. Wish this was a setting in the gui interface... even with shadow detail set to "high" it didn't do this.
