Wasteland Workshop Mortars Works less the 1/2 the time.

Okay, so what is with this?

The Fireworks - Weather Change Mortar Guns work less than half the time.

I can put the Fireworks in it and it 'eats' them - but does NOT launch them into the sky?

But they are GONE!

This has been since the WW came out. I even started a brand new game, for other reasons - but thought, "Okay, maybe something got messed up in the game."

Nope it's still less the 50% of the time it will work and then I have to destroy the existing one and create a new one. :P

Any thoughts - Ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks!

All the weather changing mortars worked first time for me.

They fired once I took power away from them with a switch.

Wait, what?

You "... took power away from them ..."? As in turned the power source * OFF *?

I thought they needed power 1 unit?

Okay - found out more to this "challenge".

The Mortar only seems to go "dead" - when I leave Sanctuary Red Rocket for a FO full 24 hours or longer.

The "fix" is - Save Game, exit to Main FO Menu and reload game from there.

Sorry, let me rephrase what i said.

The mortars seem to fire once the power is taken away from them.

I used a switch connected to a generator and the mortar. The mortar is supplied with power and once that power is taken away, it fires.

Seems like it should be the other way around and fire when it's powered but i was just saying something with the hopes that it might fix something.

Yes - so it looks like you have found a "Bug" ... and yes I tried your post, as I thought I understood it and NO it would not fire as I thought would happen.

Haha, i thought that was just how the mortars work. So, I'm guessing that they fire once you give them power?

That could also make sense because those advanced logic gate were acting strange for me but i made a workaround.

I've never even touched the new DLC until i read this thread so i don't have too much knowledge on them and i'm still playing with it.

Also could you give me the steps to replicate your "challenge"?

I'll give another shot and see if i can replicate it.

Which one?

Basically -

* I had the angled mortar attached to power.

* It works fine until I left the Red Rocket - Sanctuary One.

* Would return, either by foot and/or use Fast Travel.*

It would - mortar - not fire the Clear Weather and/or Fireworks until I would:

* Save game.

* Exit to main FO Menu. (Where all menu options for game is.)

* Reload current saved game.

* I only use fast travel when I'm at Concord and it's late and I just want to get home. I, otherwise do not use F.T.

I have to admit, I am curious how you got it to work with NO POWER?

No matter what I do, I cannot get that to happen.

Wait - do you have it close to a "relay power source"? I wonder, like lights if that might be the 'bug', it's close enough that, like lights, it might work???
