DarkDragen
This is the worst thing to find on the site, looking for Al!.bsa, as I'm trying to download BEWARE OF GIRL Type 3 HiRez HiDetailed Replacer by BlackBlossom, so I can download a few other adult mods, but need a nude mod to work with the mods. ***** NOTE: Have you tried to set up archieveinvalidationinvalidated? manually for your New Vegas yet. It`ll remove the need for ArchiveInvalidation.txt with any more texture changing mods including my body replacer. If not go here. I know it`s for Fallout 3 but it`ll work for NV. Download the manual version. Extract and move the archieveinvalidationinvalidated.bsa to your Fallout New Vegas data folder. Then look for your Fallout.ini and fallout_default.ini files. The Fallout.ini File will be in Your documents folder under `My Games` (where your saves folder is) and your Fallout_default.ini in your Fallout New Vegas folder where your FalloutNV.exe is. Open them both up. Scroll down and look for for [Archive] change it so it looks like this [Archive]SInvalidationFile=iRetainFilenameOffsetTable=1iRetainFilenameStringTable=1iRetainDirectoryStringTable=1bCheckRuntimeCollisions=0bInvalidateOlderFiles=1bUseArchives=1SArchiveList=Fallout - Voices1.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa, Fallout - Misc.bsa, ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa, Fallout - Textures.bsa, Fallout - Textures2.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa Only the first and last line need to change. Make sure both .ini files are like that and save. Make sure the ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa is in your Fallout New Vegas data folder and you should be set. Remove any ArchiveInvalidation.txt files as you will not need them anymore. Also if you prefer not to use the idle animation included go into meshes/characters/_male/locomotion and remove the idle anim`s meshes ( pamtidle.kf and mtidle.kf ). ******* I done the part in changing the lines, but the problem is the part with the Al!.bsa, I can't follow the link that the Mod Maker give us, it won't work and there's no name to the Mod that the link lead to, so I can't do it that way. Is there any tips I can get to get the damn Al!.bsa, as I need it for other mods too. So if possible, please give me step by step advertise on how to do this please. dubiousintent
Alright, I will assume you have your reasons for doing this the hard way instead of letting a mod manager deal with it. First, read this article which covers the history of the "ArchiveInvalidation" technique, and then exactly what is needed to implement BSA Redirection. As it points out the "AI!.bsa" is a dummy file with no content. (Just create a new, empty text file and rename it.) The only thing important about the name of the file is that you use the same name in the INI file as for the dummy BSA. It is also my understanding that the dummy BSA file should be listed first, as it's purpose is to "fail" and cause the game to look for "loose files" first instead of inside of the other BSAs. But check out the information cited about "file dates". Do read that post as it has several important other considerations you have to deal with as well. -Dubious- Edited July 4, 2016 by dubiousintent
DarkDragen
The reason I'm doing it though mod organizer is because I found a youtube video that give step by step using mod organizer, and to be honest, whilst it might take a while, it give some good mods to fix the game and I like how it was done and so went with it. I've now sorted out the Al!.bsa problem, but the thing is whilst it works for the other Mods that need it, it WON'T work for Beware of Girls for some reason. And so I had to use one of the other files to use it.
dubiousintent
Well, I don't know which video you are following, but MO does not require you to manually deal with Archive Invalidation. You set up a profile and enable the check box. See the "Initial Setup" section of the STEP Guide. You have to bear in mind that the install instructions for "Beware of Girl" were originally written in 2010, when BSA Redirection was replacing the manual method. Those instructions are intended for people switching over from the old TXT file method. It looks like those instructions haven't been updated since. You do not want to have multiple methods of Archive Invalidation active, as they will step on each other. You only need one method, and BSA Redirection works for all mods. If you are not getting the BoG replacements to work correctly, it is much more likely to be an installation issue with that mod than Archive Invalidation if that is working correctly for other mods. Which method of installation did you choose for BoG: FOMOD or Manual? Did you get the same type of files in all cases of the optional choices? While I am at it I want to point out that "four times the normal resolution" is 4096x4096. (Normal= 512x512, double = 1026x1026, then 2048x2048, and then 4096x4096.) Be sure your video card can deal with that load. -Dubious- Edited July 5, 2016 by dubiousintent
