CS:GO Gambling Scam and paid mods

Next week on Zanity news:

BETHESDA is KILLING KITTENS and MAIMING TODDLERS in order to enable their ILLUMINATI CONSPIRACIES to take hold in the general populace, finally allowing them to DESTROY THE SPIRIT OF MODDING and steal the CHRISTMAS PRESENTS from our INNOCENT CHILDREN (even the maimed toddlers).

Am I doing it right?

Generally you should avoid emphasizing prepositions like 'of' or 'the'. You want to take words that already have a bit of a wiz-bang factor and enhance that through selective emphasis.

It's best to avoid hitting double words or phrases unless necessary or if they're really commonly associated together to the point that they're almost one word (Christmas Presents is fine for example, Innocent children's forcing it a bit but sort of works because of the power of the phrase, the rest not so much).

Don't use the first person, go with the second person. So instead of 'our' it should be 'your' innocent children.

You probably don't want to use parentheses since they weaken rather than add emphasis, but it can be good for ironic nudge-nudge wink-wink sly comments that you put in. So you could do, Bethesda (part of Zenimax don't you know).

You should probably have a rhetorical question somewhere in there or phrase some things in the future tense to create the impression of a looming disaster.

Clickbait is actually strangely difficult to write, it's almost an artform of its own in some ways.

What does it mean when MONEY is forced into a previously free and uncommercial aspect of computer gaming, like Bethesda's coming paid mods (that so many modders are looking forward to exploiting)? Well today the BIGGEST criminal scandal in computer gaming to date hit all the news outlets across the Internet, and teaches us about the perfect (and intended) corrupting nature of such monetisation.

Counter-strike:go is Valve's mega successful, aimed at kids, online multuplayer FPS. Now Valve owns Steam, and Steam makes a fortune (deserved so) by being the best digital distribution system for paid computer games. Steam's LEGITIMATE business model has made everone at Valve rich beyond their wildest dreams, just as Fallout 4 made Beth ONE BILLION dollars+ worth of sales on a TINY dev budget.

Neither Beth nor Valve needed extra sources of income ON TOP of these legitimate MEGA-successful methods of business, but both corporations have proven to be GREEDY beyond all comprehension. What does the unvarnished GREED of something like PAID mods actually imply for the future- well look at the CS:GO gambling scandal for an explanation.

1. You don't get to decide how much money a person or a company is allowed to have.

2. The more extreme panic you are trying to create with your wording, the more people will ignore your opinion.

3. I play CS since the first day it came out in 1999 and I still play CSGO occasionally and I am in my early 30s. And by your line of arguing you are at best not older than 22.

Zanity, dont smoke pot while reading conspiracy sites, it feeds into your paranoia. (Don't smoke pot all actually, it will make your brain slow).

There actually was a video of Todd Howard shooting Kittens with a shotgun but the video (and with it all proof) fell off the internet due to the impact when a sack of rice was dropped in China.

As ridiculous as it sounds this guy might not be far off the mark. Especially if what he said about the drm in the new engine is true.

Hes wrong about valve owning or investing in gambling sites, however, valve makes money from royalties paid by the sites and skin repurchases.

Thinking about this in a much more reasonable and less alarmist sort of way might be necessary. Valve and beth clearly were working closely on the original paid modding attempt and it would stand to reason that they would hope to continue working together on a second implementation attempt. The first thing they would need to do is prevent duplication of the mods themselves on a user's system. Then they would need to localize mod uploads to one platform (steam workshop for example). Once these two steps are finished they have essentially turned fallout 4 mods into csgo skins where the user pays for the mod itself rather than a key to open the case.

This is where the OP goes fully into alarmist mode assuming that mods will develop into another form of "valve money" which is possible but im not sure if its all that likely. Regardless it is something to be concerned about imo when it comes to paid modding. Valve and bethesda have already shown they seem to care rather little about the modder or the end user (modders cut during the first implementation of paid mods, CSGO skin gambling, CSGO skin scams, bethesda.net fiasco, and finally the endemic cheating in valve base MM and their supposed connection to ESEA and bitcoin mining)

Having played csgo competitively and being a close follower of the competitive scene there I can say that OP is right on this being a huge freaking deal but im not sure if paid mod implementation is going to go the same way as CSGO skins. Valves involvement sketches me out immensely so I would just say to all modders out there be very wary of what you might get in a paid modding deal. No sarcasm, no bullshit, treat valve and bethesda the same way you would treat a csgo skin trading bot. That is to say dont trust them as far as you can throw them basically.

The entire video game industry is very rapidly turning into a sketchy place that seems to be entirely built around milking the customer and content creator out of every last possible penny.

Sorry this was just my 2 cents but I can see very little reason to trust anyone in this industry right now and just wanted to give any modders out there a heads up that they should guard their work closely and not trade it away for any reason.
