calixto corrium blood on the ice bug !spoiler!

First of if you haven't played this quest yet and don't want spoiler don't read further!

 

Ok I'm currently stuck in the quest "Blood on the ice" I found all the evidence and accused the court mage at first, but when i entered windhelm after completing another quest, antoher woman gets killed and so i go and talk to the court mage and realize that calixto corrium is the real killer and go out in the street and wait for him to strike and after waiting for a day i go to his hideout and find him there but i can't kill him (he is now scriptet as a important person and cannot be killed) what should i do didn't make a manual save before the quest so i can't go back. I have been looking for someway to kill him via the console but no luck this far, i have tried the kill command and but i won't die.

 

If anyone got an idea please submit it because i have bought the house he hides in and everytime i'm ine the house i tries to kill me and that's annoying...

I know you probably don't give a s*** by this point, as it's been a few months, but in case anyone else finds this via google (like I did!) and wonders about how to resolve this, here's what I did:

 

I tried every console command possible. I tried "setessential 0001414A 0" (to make Calixto killable), then targeted him and tried "isessential". It returned 1.00, meaning yeah, he's still immortal. "kill" didn't work, it just set him to bleed out, same as beating the s*** out of him. "disable" made him disappear, but that didn't help the quest. So I went back to a previous save (before I started Blood on the Ice the second time), started it over, did everything the same, and it happened again. And again.

 

I finally said, "Alright, this is bulls***. I'm giving it one last shot and that's it. If I can't do it, f*** it, Windhelm sucks and Wuunferth deserves to be in jail, apparently."

 

I broke into Calixto's house, stole his key, and took the Butcher's Journal #3 from his chest upstairs. Then I went back home to where I had stored the other Butcher Journals, and the fliers Viola had put up. With everything in my inventory, I started the quest back up, and I was finally able to kill Calixto outside The White Phial.

 

Also -possibly- worth noting: I never took the Strange Amulet to Calixto during the first part, and was never able to do so in the second part. Thankfully, with the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, Wuunferth (when he told me what it was) "identified" it for me, and the Necromancer's Amulet appeared in my inventory in its place.
