Marbletrainjd
Hey. I'm new. If there is already a discussion on this, please point out for me. I want to edit skyrim meshes with blender on my Mac. How do I get files that will open in Blender (the new version). Thanks.
Lord of the Strings
Ehm, I do know nothing about the Mac and I'm not quite sure what You are asking for. If you want to edit vanilla models you will probably have to extract them from the bsa files. Then you may want to make use of a tool like this one: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/247/? I'm not pretty sure that you will get happy with an actual version of blender though. You will also need stuff like this http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/45355/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D45355%26preview%3D&pUp=1 Also this may be of use: http://afkmods.iguanadons.net/index.php?/topic/4136-nifskope-20-dev/ I do not know whether you could have to stick to an older blender version like 2.49b Hopefully this could point you the direction at least Edited September 5, 2016 by Lord of the Strings
Marbletrainjd
Thank you for your reply. I have learned a great deal since posting my question and I will check out the hints you gave me. My interest began with my desire to create mods for skyrim. Now I am mainly interested in obtaining character meshes in .blend format that I can trust will deform well when animated. Also, I would prefer to avoid paying for them. Thank you again.
