channel_49
Well, this is kind of a request, more like a question. Is it even possible for a mod to control the depth of field like in Oblivion / Minecraft or one of those games with DoF mods? While landscapes are cool and all, I'm tired of the game being focused to hyperfocal ALL the time.Shallow depth of field when looking at objects adds a lot of realism, DoF should always be changing as the player is moving around. It's probably too much to ask for good shaped based bokeh like in Cryengine, but could we have at least gaussian blur type bokeh? Not sure if this is what your referring to but if you bring up the console (by pressing the ~ key) and type fov and then a number up to 120 you can change the field of view. I have mine set to 90 as I've heard that is the closest thing to our actual field of view, so you would have to type in: fov 90 .

The human eyes have a horizontal FOV of 160 with the two of them.Since the game is only being seen through one lens, thats obviously not going to work since theres too much distortion.Closest thing we can get is to simulate one eye, which is horizontal FOV of 95 degrees. Field of view (FOV): simultaneous visual perception in an area of about 160° × 175°The approximate field of view of one human eye is 95° out, 75° down, 60° in, 60° up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naked_eyehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_eye --- Either way, I'm not talking about FOV, I'm talking about Depth of Field:http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/depth-of-field.htm Edited November 18, 2011 by channel_49
kuro1n
I agree this would be very interesting if it could be done well, maybe a small effect but i think it would be weird if you played 3rd person view... not sure. O o
y3ivan
From what i read in the forums, there will be an update by ENB to allow TES5 to run SSAO and Dynamic Depth of Field.

axelwibblewobble
Just for an update, Skyrim already has dynamic depth of field and radial blur so you can see the effect while you're playing and not just in menus. We don't need an ENB shader mod for this. The problem is that the only way I have found to enable it, so far, is to get myself zapped by Brelyna in Winterhold college and voila, for a while everything I do has dynamic DOF and radial blur applied. The $64k question is how to permanently activate it and where are the config settings? Personally speaking the radial blur value is too extreme for my taste so the sharpness tails off too much and too near the centre of the screen. Still other than that it's just like the DOF + Bokeh effect I used in OBGE. Took some screenshots and will post if I can be bothered (probably not!). If you want to try it yourself just go to Brelyna and volunteer. Presumably when the TES kit lands some bright spark will find this spell, tweak it and apply it to the player permanently... I really hope someone has told Boris LOL.
