A whole slew of requests.

First, I realize most of these cannot even be made until the creation kit/SDK/Construction set/whatever it's called is released. But, I decided to type down all my ideas that I hope someone will pick up, as I have absolutely no know-how in coding, modelling, etc. Kinda wish I could, but may as well leave it to the gods of modding once they pick up Skyrim.

Dragon Weapon set:

I was kinda sad to see that there was only Dragon armor to be crafted, as I wanted to wield the remains of these massive beasts in hand to give the rest of their kind their own medicine. Something about that just seems kinda funny to me. At any rate, Dragon Weapon set would be superb.

More weapons in general, along with NPCs wielding them:

At the current moment, we got iron, steel, elven, dwemer, ebony, falmor, and daedric weapons, give or take one or so of whatever I'm missing. Not much, but Skyrim makes up for it for all the millions of enchanted, unique weapons there are in the expansive world. But it gets kinda tiring to see someone wielding the same weapon with just a different enchantment, or most of the time, no enchantment at all. What I'm getting at is, just more weapons of different materials would be nice, like mithril, adamantium, some other fictional or obscure metal, or maybe even Gundanium (Cookies for you if you get that reference.).

Of course, there'll be weapon mods that add all sorts of weapons to the game, that's a given. But, I wanna take this a step further: I want a mod that has ALL the NPCs not only wielding the vanilla weapons, but all these custom weapons as well. That, not only would I be undoubtedly impressed, but also extremely happy.

Spears, Halberds, Partizans, Katars, Crossbows, short bows, other custom weapons:

These would need the modding gods on these alone to get them implemented. Truth is, I wept a single tear when I heard spears and crossbows weren't in Skyrim, unlike morrowind where these weapons could be found all over the place. It was great to see variety! But now it seems Bethesda didn't want to put the time and/or energy into making them, so seems like it's up to us modders. Maybe the Spear and it's many variations can easily trip an opponent, and while they're on the ground for a few seconds, you could get in a few stabs. Or perhaps the Shortbow, where it lacks in range, it makes up for in attack power as a true medium-range weapon for an assassin. Maybe Crossbows could sacrifice the whole 'longer you hold the mouse button, the better your shot is' for a more 'shoot as many bolts as possible!'

Hand-to-Hand, Acrobatics, Athletics, and other stuff makes a return:

In Oblivion and Morrowind, it was great to go completely hand-to-hand and punch the living daylights out of your enemies. Of course it wasn't an all that great skill to invest in, but I hoped to see that change in Skyrim: maybe some people could finally make pure monk-like characters whose backstory involved long training in the martial arts, as only a single punch could defeat any opponent (AKA Captain Falcon.).

Okay, maybe not a single punch, but you get what I mean! Add some perks for Hand-to-hand, acrobatics and athletics (I wanna run faster and jump higher! D: ), and maybe some knuckles or gloves even that help with this stat, and soon, we'll see a new breed of characters in Skyrim.

Shout-related mods:

Who else thought that, as soon as shouts were unveiled, wanted to make a pure shouting character?

No?

Well, maybe that lag time between every shout discourages it, and some shouts aren't really all that worth putting time into, but that's where the modding community kicks in, I guess. More shouts, tweaking with the settings and whatnot for shouts, and maybe perhaps making a whole 'make your own shout combination system' would be great.

... Maybe that last one is too over-the-top and impossible.

Extra music:

These are bound to appear sooner or later, but I feel mentioning them will get them to appear sooner (Spoiler: It won't.).

Werewolf Faction:

Please. The companions don't count.

Survival Immersion:

Like a few popular mods for Fallout, perhaps we could get the same thing for Skyrim, where one actually needs to eat, sleep, and drink every now and then to stay alive, and if they don't, they would suffer the consequences. However, this time, you have an entirely new variable to keep track of: How cold it is. It probably is only a tad chilly near the south of Skyrim, but the more and more north you go, the more extreme the conditions get. Your characters would have to keep warm through either wearing warm clothes like robes, or a la monster hunter, carry around hot drinks with them.

Camping may also be a great feature for Survival immersion. Pitch a tent, roll out a bedroll, start a campfire with a pot to cook with, and most of your needs are mostly met, provided you carry food with you. In fact, the very reason my character doesn't cook much is because I can barely find a cooking pot anywhere!

Speaking of portable facilities...

Portable Alchemy and enchanting:

I'd put portable forging and sharpening, but I doubt characters can carry around a freaking forge with them everywhere they go.

In all previous elder scroll games, you could do alchemy or enchanting while on the go. Find a plant? Find another plant? Use your alchemic tools you brought with you and make a poison!

I can see that Bethesda wanted to make Skyrim a tad more similar to Fallout. And that's fine, Fallout 3 and New Vegas were great games, but also probably were the games that attracted most of the Elder Scroll fans nowadays (I liked Elder scrolls before it was cool! ... No, I didn't. I was playing when Morrowind came out.). But now, most people that bought Fallout 3 and whatnot also probably picked up Skyrim, and Bethesda wanted to make stuff similar to it.

The workbench'ing of alchemy and enchanting was not a welcome change for me. If anything, this is probably the mod I want to see first and foremost the moment the SDK is released.

Improvements to magic:

Other than tweaking with it, I'm interested in seeing more spells. Sure having a ice/flamethrower this time around is great, and being able to plant runes is great too, but I want to see even more variety! Maybe we could delve into even more elements, like Earth, Darkness, Light, Water, that sort of stuff. Some interesting spells would be nice too, as well as a levitation spell a la Morrowind. Maybe it doesn't even have to be this sort of stuff, maybe some custom spells in general would be a welcome change.

If there IS something I want to see be done, it's improving runes. Laying a single rune is kinda, well, dull. Perhaps a new breed of mages could be born, known as Rune Masters, where they'd lay Runes everywhere that not only explode into a massive mess of magic, but maybe some runes that do a force-push effect like the very first shout you receive, and don't wear off after just one use, but rather maybe two or three uses. Sooner or later, you could be laying a complex system of runes that feels more like a roller coaster ride of pain rather than just a few simple exploding runes.

Or maybe just lay a rune and watch it explode multiple times as enemy after enemy comes tumbling through it until it finally wears off.

Throwable weapons:

Like in Morrowind, and in the Unnecessary Violence mod for Oblivion, there were a whole slew of throwable weapons all over the place! Being an assassin or a ninja or anything of the sort was not only possible, but encouraged with such a weapon selection. These, plus additional perks would do great.

Pre-perked and backstory included character saves:

At the very end of my very long list, is something more of a personal thing. You're a random person that gets picked up with a few stormcloaks that just so happen to be on the border, and you're suddenly rushed into the world of Skyrim with no prior experience, skills, or anything. Sure, depending on the race you choose, you'd get certain bonuses, but that was it. What if prior to you being captured, your character was a master assassin that screwed up just one time, landing him/her a spot on the chopping block, or maybe your character was a well respected Redguard whose two-handed skills were something to be feared? What did your character do the entire time they were living until they found themselves one day about to have their heads chopped off?

The basic premise is, don't just offer character saves that have decent appearances, offer some character saves that the creator themselves took time to go into the console, give these characters certain perks, and then write out entire backstories of who they were, what they were doing and why up until the point where they were about to lose their heads. This would give a lot of immersion, and shows that the person that created these characters knew what they were doing.

That's it. If I have a whole other slew of mods I'd like to see made, I'll post them here.

'make your own shout combination system'

Yes! Yes Yes Yes! It would probably be very difficult and maybe a bit klunky, but that is a brilliant idea! I found it a bit off-putting that the shouts had sizeable cooldowns, but even worse was the lack of overlap of words between similar shouts. Shout activating/upgrading is a bit too linear imo for something that supposedly comes from a complete vocabulary. If there is any way at all for word crossover, mixing, and shout customization I would love to see it done!

+1 for this and for your other ideas. Since most of them are already Oblivion mods, I'd guess they will be added to Skyrim reasonably soon.
