TenShadows
http://i.imgur.com/qf5VKGG.jpg You can tell that this guy has armor on, yet none of it appears in his inventory to be looted. This has been a persistent issue ever since the start of the game and I have no idea what's causing it. I have no armor-related mods. The only mods I've installed since the last time I played (when I could loot corpses just fine) were Enhanced Economy (replacing Living Economy), Vanilla Combat Enhanced, Improved Dungeons, some nature mods, and re-installing Book Jackets and still failing to make it work. None of those do anything to enemies or their equipment, as far as I know.
Surilindur
The game has some items that are marked as unplayable, so player cannot even see them. But not all items should be marked like that. Odd. Could it be Enhanced Economy? If I remember correctly, the options to hide and/or remove loot were enabled by default. You can see the ini file for that mod if it helps. I think some "broken item" objects were also involved, but I am not sure. It has been a while since I configured that mod myself. Sorry for not being able to give more advice, maybe someone else knows better. Edited July 6, 2016 by Contrathetix
TenShadows
I experimented a little and the fault turned out to be in Better Dungeons. Given that the mod isn't supposed to touch actors at all, much less ones that aren't even inside dungeons, this is really weird. Ah well. It never seemed to work at all anyway. zdswulyx
You can try the alternative (not compatible) Snus Dungeon. Links here: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/22155-snusdungeons-download-link/(n.b., it's the non-adult section, but lovers lab as the name suggest contains adult material)
TenShadows
Thanks for the recommendation: Snus Dungeon seems to do a lot of good to the incredibly boring dungeons. Unfortunately... http://i.imgur.com/LVZkrIV.jpg ...it has the exact same damn problem. Why the hell does this keep happening? Why do NPCs have to be so bloody bound with the dungeons they inhabit? Surilindur
Did you disable the loot removal stuff from Enhanced Economy already? That might be worth a try. The options are in the ini files for that mod. At least it cannot do any harm to disable it, if you want all loot to be available, and not hidden and/or removed. Also, how are they "bound with the dungeons they inhabit" if their items do not appear upon inventory access? I am not sure I understand. Could be just me lacking the brainpower, though... nothing new there. :ermm:
KingDon2K
Some gear cannot be looted from certain NPC, the gear is somewhat bound to them.
Surilindur
Some gear cannot be looted from certain NPC, the gear is somewhat bound to them. Yes, some equipment can be defined as non-playable, and it will not appear in inventory for the player, and the player cannot equip it. The case is either that, or Enhanced Economy loot settings hiding the loot from player by default. What makes it curious is that the images show the equipment would be rather generic, at least by the looks of it. In which case having it marked as non-playable seems odd. Which is why Enhanced Economy settings might be worth checking. Especially since TenShadows mentioned he has that mod. Apologies for potentially being too persistent, but the OP has not mentioned having disabled the loot hiding feature from EE, and that could be one obvious reason for that missing stuff right there. It was just the way the OP put his/her words that got me confused a bit. Maybe it is my lack of brainpower, after all. Sorry. If someone finds the cause, and it is not Enhanced Economy, please post it here. It might be enlightening for me, too. And anyone else who passes by. The game - and especially mods - always have some tricks up their sleeves, it seems. :)
zdswulyx
It's a loooong shot, but Wrye Bash; rebuild the patch ticking the options "make all clothing playable" and "make all armors playable" in "tweak assorted" section. If after this, it will persist at least we know it's not the game thinking the armors are not playable.
