hi guys, im having this weird problem.

i m trying to install mods such as respawn rate so i placed the esp file into my data folder along with all the bsa files.

when i use the skyrim launder, the data files option is greyed out and i cannot get into it at all.

also, when i start the game, it seems like the mod wasnt loaded at all.

any solutions???

1. Go to Documents/My Games/Skyrim/ and open SkyrimPrefs.ini

2. scroll down and add the line

bEnableFileSelection=1

under the [Launcher] section

3. Save

4. Start Skyrim Launcher, Data files menu is now available

What if its already set to 1 and the data files are still greyed-out?

Then you probably didn't place the line under the [Launcher] section of Skyrim.ini located in \Documents\(User)\Games\Skyrim\.

I have all that enabled, Data Files are clickable, but the list of the files is empty, except for the Skyrim.esm. I also added the mods' names into the plugins.txt in AppData, but still nothing.

Ok i think i worked out the issue. I had the same problem I saw the line and it was allready there.

I was looking at the wrong Skyrim prefs file though

The one you need to go to is the one in your documents/mygames/skyrim (or what ever it is for you)

i kept going into the prefs file that was in the skyrim install directory (that one allready had the correct line at the very bottom but it as doing nothing

again make sure you go to ... C:\Users\[name]\Documents\My Games\Skyrim NOT IN THE SKYRIM INSTALL DIRECTORY!

I am also experiencing the same problem. I made sure to add the line mentioned above to the correct file, and I am able to click on Data Files section in the launcher, but the list stays empty, for whatever reason, although I have installed about 50+ mods which are completely appropriate displayed in Nexus Mod Manager, which I now use as a solution to activate my mods. Still, I wonder why the Skyrim Launcher doesn't recognize my mods.
