maxxbrown
I don't know about everyone else but it makes a difference to me whether or not a sword has an actual sheath or just some leather loop on your side. I know there are several swords that are too chaotic, such as the Daedric sword, to make a sheath for. I'm not totally sure how hard it would be to do something like this, I'm willing to give it a shot myself. Feedback on probability of something like this being made, or difficulty in making it, would be greatly appreciated.
LibertyBull
Could be feasible. Look at most pistol holsters today; they simply make parts of the holster bigger to accommodate the sights or any other parts that stick out. Doesnt really matter how crazy the sword is, you could make a full sheath for it, but realistically it would look big and bulky because of all those frayed or scraggly bits to fit in through the mouth. RagnarMagnus
This is a great idea. Actualy bladed weapons such as swords, daggers, machetes, falchions, katzbalgers, etc. weared without a sheat or carried on some sort of hanger are nonsense. In medieval europe had all of them sheats covering entire blade to protect the blade from stain. Also there is no proof of carrying weapons on back and there are several hystorical paintings picturing long arms carried at the hip, so its considered that all weapons even a those "big badas" two handed swords were carried in sheat hanged on a belt like short weapons. Also arrows was carried on hip and not on back. Reason is obvious: draw the sword or pul out arow from hip is more confortable and faster, than going with your hand all the way up over the shoulder to the back and draw the sword from there. Also draw sword that is longer than your forearm from the back mounted sheat is impossible.

True, in that case you probably could make a sheath for most if not all swords. +dual sheaths. Haha yes absolutely! It's pretty off-putting when you dual wield and the weapon on your left hand appears out of thin air :/ (Of course, this isn't me complaining, Skyrim is still a hundred times more fantastic than I could ever have expected.) Incensement
+dual sheaths.This...totally! I'm already thinking about going for a 2hander because of how ridiculous it looks (Skyrim is still pretty awesome tho) Edited November 22, 2011 by Incensement
