grover752
I'm just starting the Skyrim CK tutorial, trying to recreate Lokir's Tomb. There are two sets of stairs in one of the hallways, both leadiing down. When I drop a set of stairs on the floor, the bottom stair aligns with the floor, so that if I turn it to go up it will align with the floor perfectly. But how do you make it align when the stairs are going down? When I try to move it down it moves in chunks, and I always end up with a hole. Tried changing the grid to smaller sizes, but that doesn't seem to affect vertical movement. (By the way, I'm 73 and a little late getting started so this stuff doesn't come easy, sorry!) Thanks for any suggestions. I'm constantly amazed at some of the stuff you people come up with in your mods!
skinnytecboy
Wow.... modding is ageless, kinda like jazz musicians :) Anyway, I used to suffer this problem all the time. Your best bet is to right click on the object in question and manually adjust the xyz axis. On the first tab on the right your see settings for these, they'll probably set by default to 4.000, change them all to 1 and experiment with adjusting the levels to the left until you get that pesky object right where you want it. Once happy, click okay. Good luck with your modding adventures :)
grover752
AHA! Thank you so much. It still took me a while to figure out how to do it, but eventually I was successful with the first set of stairs. The second set somehow got a little out of whack so that I had a little seam line showing, but I noticed that the "Z Position" was set at -255 and a fraction, where the piece I was trying to match up with was set to -128, so changing the setting to -256 made it snap right into place with no seam showing. And on to the next challange! (Think I'll pause to check out your mods first though.) Thank you again.
