sinlessorrow
So I'm working on a custom gun and I am trying to figure out weapon recoil stats. do + or - stats reduce movement of the rifle and sights. Also how do I decrease shot spread so the shots shoot more true to aim.
WhiskeyRiver2
I'm not 100% sure on it, but from what I do know there are a few values you want to look at. AimModelRecoilMinDegPerShot and AimModelRecoilMaxDegPerShot control how much the weapon physically "kicks" when you fire. Across all weapon mods that have those two values, a sum of -1 will result in a weapon with literally no recoil/muzzle climb at all. AimModelMinConeDegrees and AimModelMaxConeDegrees both control the "spread" of the weapon. Again, a total of -1 across all mods with those values gives you a weapon with absolutely no spread. AimModelBaseStability is the one that controls the "sway", or how much the weapon moves around while aiming. This is the only one I'm not 100% sure on how it works, but I'd imagine it's the same as the others up above. Note that for all of these values, a total of anything other than -1 will result in some level of muzzle climb/spread/sway. The base weapon starts out with those values at +1, so a total modifier value of -1 obviously gives a sum of 0. I'll see if I can get glissaman to pop in and provide some better answers in case I missed anything - he's the one that did all the recoil/spread tweaks in the latest version of Modern Firearms, so he probably knows a tad more about this than I do (I'm just cribbing off his notes >.>).
