Just use the TesV.exe to start the game and it bypasses steam. You will need to get on steam to activate the game anyway - as there is some content that is not on the DVD. Install the steam client - you will need that to activate the game anyway.use the instructions for installing a DVD game and activate Skyrim using steam, it will automatically update your gameClose steam.Look in the Skyrim folder and find TesV.exe.Right click and create a shortcut.
