HautdenLukas
This bug still happens with patch 1.9. It's rare but it's annoying because you only notice it when it's too late. It seems to be connected to cell loads just like other settlement bugs that cause your settlement data to become corrupted (incorrect number of food, water, power, beds, defense). It may also be related to the infamous cell reset bug which happens in certain locations. I just had a provisioner sentry bot revert to basic protectron. It was set up between Greentop Nursery and The Slog. On that route it passes Breakheart Banks, a supermutant farm that resets instantly if you move within a certain distance to it. Fortunately I was able to fix it with a slightly earlier savegame which I did before leaving the Slog. I pulled the sentry bot to the Slog by using the robot workbench, teleported over to Greentop Nursery, did some management, pulled the sentry to Greentop Nursery, teleported to Outpost Zimonja to manage stuff over there and teleported back to the Slog just like I did before. When I pulled the bot to the Slog it was still a sentry bot instead of the protectron that I met on the road to Saugus on the previous attempt. Quite a relief because sentry bots are super expensive in terms of rare materials... On a previous playthrough (with patch 1.8) I had similar issues with a provisioner robobrain between Mechanist's Lair and County Crossing. Fast traveling to County Crossing had a good chance to revert that bot to a protectron. Another provisioner bot that experienced the issue was one between Dalton Farm and National Park Visitor's Center in Far Harbor.
pra
I think this only happens with provisioner robots now, and then only with some
dragonslayer2k12
Dammit I haaaaaaaaaaaateee this bug! I have to assign a big dam sentry bot between the slog and finch farm because for whatever reason the provisioner no matter what they are always walk behind the dam forge instead of down the roads that lead to finch farm. Why the hell do they take that path anyway? or even worse they just walk right through the forge area and for whatever stupid reason those three brahmins are just standing around near finch farm how do I get them to live at finch farm? CaptainNemo321
I had the same issue with three robots I build only for settlement security for Longfellows Cabin. Each time after they were finished and I left and returned a few minutes later each reverted back to a basic protectron. I varied the builds thinking it was one of the robot elements causing the issue. I am using an Xbox series X so console commands and mods are not something I use. The reverted robot cannot be self destructed for some reason, so instead I used them as target practice. Any solutions yet? tm10067
Never experienced it at all fortunately and I run an army of automatrons for various roles. My game is very old like 10 years ago 1.10.98 and I won't risk upgrading it up I guess.
CaptainNemo321
I found two reverted protectron units somehow hidden at Longfellows that I had created and then disappeared, and found after using the robot workbench. CaptainNemo321
Update; I have checked all the settlements that I have robots working as security, and none have reverted to basic protectron like what happened at Longfellows. I sent Ada instead and she has been working at Longfellows without issues. Strange bug that it only affects one settlement.
