Finishing moves

Haa I like your name

So my personal opinion is that I get finishing moves anyway a lot of the time (2h specialized) and having them constantly would bum me out because they take a tiny chunk out of the gameplay each time. Not to say for some characters on a harder difficulty (playing on normal) who didn't automatically one shot bandits anyway, it could be nice. And with all the combat realism mods sure to come out. Ill go ahead and give this

+1

good luck

Is there a way to turn up the number of finishing moves you do. I've killed loads of dragons so far and not a single finishing move on a single one. I think that dragon fights are big enough to HAVE to finish with some awesome move like ramming a sword through the dragons head etc.

Edit: YES! I finally got a finishing move. I jumped up and rammed a sword into its head repeatedly.

Are the chances of finishing moves increased if an enemy is staggered?

I've killed about a dozen dragons and the only time I got a kill animation like you described was when I was hitting the dragon in the head. Once the dragon lands and is too injured to fly, go up to his head and engage in melee combat. Pretend you're fighting a bandit and use block and force shouts to stagger him, then hopefully you will get a finishing move.

In case someone hasn't seen this for themselves: I had a cool kill animation, where I leaped on to the dragons neck and jammed my longsword down through it's skull. The only thing that spoiled it was the underwhelming reaction from onlookers! Jeez, I just killed a dragon by jumping on it and stabbing it in the face! The least you can do is gasp or big me up! It's a tough crowd, in Skyrim.
