RaidenRests
I'm looking for some guidance on how to mod. I've scoured uesp creation kit guide. Very useful but it mostly applies to making levels, quests, scripting with papyrus, etc. What I'm really interesting in is learning how to make compatibility patches for mods that I love using. I'm also interested in learning how to make merged patches. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
agerweb
When you create a patch for a mod that is in esp form rather than a master (esm) you should create a master version of that mod and load that and your patch mod and it into the CK and any subsequent times you work on your mod in the CK. (You can use TESVEdit to add the ESM tag to an ESP). You run your patch in game with the original esp form of the mod, but your patch mod will still think its a master.
