Michlo
Back in the fantasy setting of Dungeons and Dragons there was some magic items that allowed character to store a huge amount of items in an ALTERNATIVE pocket dimension. There was a bag of holding. Back in Mage papRPG from White Wolf, there was spheres that allowed that as well. A mod only needs to make an ingame item or magic spell/skill adaptation. Lets say "Alteration" allows you send items to the chest in your house or something through MAGIC, you cast it, choose the items, waste the mana. Simple. Or a magic bag of holding that sucks items inside removing their weight and rendering them unable to be used, untill removed from said bag. Like ghost busters. Or like Presto from Dungeons and Dragon cartoon had the hat that conjured stuff out of nowhere that he could sometimes store items inside. In game, you have stamina, the stone buff, multiple potions of carrying (wich could be buffed with mods, it would be reasonable because its magic, just like invisibility and magicka potions are), there are enchantments that increase it too, there is a companion that allows you to gather more junk, it even aknowledges it and even if you are emcumbered you have the fast travel horse. I also think fast traveling or even carriage are both cheating. But if somehow there was a mod that allowed you to cast a spell on an item to remove its weight for a period or store it in another dimension (send it to somewhere in Oblivion, like the conjured/bound weapons, make a bound chest or something that can be summoned allowing the player to access items inside and store them), than it would be perfectly acceptable. As long as its justified. The above user saying "its a single player" blablabla. Doesnt matter. You are breaking the rules, the intended design decision rules of the developer. Also, you are lieing to yourself saying "you dont get an unfair advantage". Off course you do. You get more time, more money. You dont have to choose what to pick and what left behind. Its an RPG and you dont even roleplay the conflict of the character "so much treasure, what should I pick" that you can see in movies such as The Goonies and the Indiana Jones/William Quarterman character from Chuck Norris.... There are ruins all over the world. There are bandits, treasure hunters, expeditions. You find tons of dead treasure hunters and expedition diaries. WITHIN THE WORLD SETTING, the player character, to be reasonable, WOULD HAVE TO PLAN CARRYING WEIGHT PROBLEMS BEFORE HAND. Choose what to pick, pick only the valuable stuff. There is no room for this bulls***, pick everything you see, edit console for 10 thousand weight carry. You are cheating. Removing the need for stamina investment. Essentially giving you overhead for magicka or health, plus all the time you are stealing, the immersion, the extra coin you get from infinite stuff. THATS 100% CHEATING. Ogridum, get over it. Give it a rest. There are bigger issues in the world. This is not YOUR game, it is ours. Until such mods that "justify" it are in game, we will do what we want and that includes using the console code given to us by the developers. As for it being cheating, again, it is OUR game and we don't have to go by your interpretation of cheating. Unfair advantage? Over whom exactly? Is this allowing us to beat you at this game in a way I was unaware of? Finally, if Bethesda considered it cheating, it would stop the accomplishments as other console commands do. It doesn't. The end.
darkjedi73200
It is cheating based on the fact that if you just upgrade your stamina you increase your weight limit. So if you need to add a mod that increases how much you can carry then in some case you just cheated to get a bunch of stamina. Not that I care since the only person impacted by this is you, but if you wanted to know by definition if it is cheating, then yes, yes it is.

csgators
I had a look through my inventory last night as there was one quest item that had a weight of 20, I've finished that quest yet I'm still forced to carry it about. Talk to the mage in Whiterun in Dragonsreach. Edited November 19, 2011 by csgators
bamfigms
I never understand why people want to say things such as "There is no room for this bulls***, pick everything you see, edit console for 10 thousand weight carry. You are cheating. Removing the need for stamina investment. Essentially giving you overhead for magicka or health, plus all the time you are stealing, the immersion, the extra coin you get from infinite stuff. THATS 100% CHEATING." That anger they have, that self righteous mindset that they know the "rules", and they appoint themselves the game police. It's crazy. I can understand someone saying that doing such things can take away challenge from the game, and keep you from enjoying it as much. I disagree with those people as well, but at least I wouldn't imagine them foaming at the mouth whilst typing out their "cheater" hating messages. As far as those claiming we get an unfair advantage..... over who? an advantage has to be against something or someone else, by definition in most cases. That goes double for "unfair advantage" an unfair advantage against..... myself? Honestly I think it would take me a very long time to even come up with a scenario in which that would even make the slightest sense. What people like that boil down to is... "Stop having fun!!!1 You're not doing it the way I think is right!" and honestly, I think most of us play games to have fun, to have that freedom we lack in the real world, you know the freedom to cast fire magic on the town guards who catch us stealing peoples assorted goodies with our modded "10 thousand weight carry"
