NexusComa
After years of fighting the Creation Kit trying to keep things lined up, today I find a trick that changed that ... I'm sure you have noticed once you start adding content to your room lay out design (rugs, furniture, exc) the auto line up feature goes out the window if you try to move the entire room. You're left to hand edit each item until it looks right (knowing full well they are off a bit). Well today I ran across how to get around that. Let's say you have a entire room created and completely filled with items. Then decide you want to add a doorway that will push the entire room back a bit. Here is how you do it and still keep everything lined up with the auto line up (grid mode) ... Just hold ctrl and highlight the entire room as you normally would but, before you try to move anything hold down ctrl again and deselect something in the room you know to be lined up on the grid (the floor should always work) then select it again. Now you will be able to move the entire room(s) and everything will stay lined up on the grid. It would seem the handle is set to the last thing you select. Some may not think this is a huge deal ... others will absolutely love this.
KunoMochi
And for those pesky few objects not on the same grid as other objects, you can also use Snap-to-Reference (Shift+Q) in the Render Window. :)http://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=Bethesda_Tutorial_Layout_Part_2#Working_With_Snap-to-Reference
NexusComa
After messing with this for a bit I found you can even move a bunch of things around that are not on the grid at all by simply adding something that is. ( like a X Marker or anything )Hit grid and line it up ... then highlight everything you wish to move and click the thing you added last. Everything will move with the last thing you added that was lined up on the grid. After you can then just delete it.
