Herculine
As you might guess, I'm accustomed to the world map in Oblivion. Can the Skyrim world map be moved/dragged around like the Cyrodiil map so I can pick where I actually want to fast-travel to? I understand zooming in/out and placing markers, but I can't figure out how to see the rest of the map. (I'm gonna feel really stupid if it's something really basic. Stupid Skyrim UI !) saldu
Yes it can, with your movement keys and with moving the mouse to the border of the visible part. Both methods can be stacked for even faster scrolling.
Herculine
Thanks for the help. I knew it had to be something I was missing, but as it turns out part of the problem is also that I've re-assigned my movement keys so now they will not function on the map. (I NEVER use the WASD deal.) The mouse cursor to the screen edge works though, so I'll manage. UI problems seem to be a recurring theme with this game. I had a similar issue because I had re-assigned the "activate" function. I guess the devs expected us to just use all the default key assignments and be happy. volnaiskra
From memory, you can also right click and drag to partially rotate it. Also, there's a mod that fixes those hard coded key bindings. It's called "hard coded key tweaks', i think

Herculine
Yes, this interface key tweak mod indeed fixed all my key-binding issues.
