Thistle traps script help

I am trying to wrap my brain around the script; TrapFloraThistle. What I want to do is take the FO4 thistle and make it into a plantable item, where it doesn't explode but just gives the ingredient. The problem is the nif is rigged as a trap. I put all the variables in the script to 0 and removed the radius but it didn't change anything. When I add it to the constructables the thistle breaks when somebody gets too close to it. It also makes it where you can't assign anybody to them once they are broken. I tried removing the script but then it doesn't give any ingredient, or if I swap the nif with a harvestable plant in the ck when you harvest it in game the whole plant disappears instead of just the flower.

So what I'd like to do is make the trigger timer as long as possible where it can explode if you are near it, but you'd have to stand there for days or even hours in order for that to happen.

I have two timers in the vanilla script; warntime and hazardcleartime . Which one do I extend to make the desired results? Or suggestions on how to make the plant just give the ingredient without all the other variables.
