Drytor
I was reading through some mod ideas and somebody said something about "blinging up" your armour by placing gems on it. If this were possible then this could potentially Go awesome in terms of enchanting. What if you could enchant gems (probably only flawless) and then stick them on your armour?! BloodLX99
That's an interesting idea, but only if the gems did things that enchanting can't do. Otherwise it's kind of a secondary form of enchanting, and might be a bit overboard.
Drytor
I did think it might be but what if Enchanting restrictions were changed so that you could only get certain enchantments from the gems and they can't normally be put on Armour or weapons. I think things like Magicka being put on basically anything is a bit overboard but if the gems could act as Mana pools...
BloodLX99
I could see that. As long as it's balanced it's a neat idea. Now tying that into some visual aspect (ie you see the gems on the armor) that would be a real feat!
Drytor
What would be even more awesome is if there was a glow on the gems until you used up your Magicka! But that's just getting silly... I'm sure someone could texture in Gems.Perhaps it could be something more like craft gem with soulgem. Tthe larger the sould the better the pre-determined effects rather than just enchanting what you want
BloodLX99
I included this idea in a new thread about crafting improvements here.
