Calebhp95
So after crafting my long awaited set of completely badass ebony armor, I was quickly disappointed when I went into third person and spotted an issue that isn't so pleasing to the eye. When equipped with both the chestpiece and helmet there is some nasty clip going on on the back of your neck. Without the helmet, there's some odd black ring surrounding your neck as if it were a necklace. I don't know anything about modding but this doesn't seem like it'd be too too hard to fix... I'm sure i'm not the only one who would be extremely grateful if it was fixed. Please make it happen, and thanks so much if it does! P.S. This is what it looks like, I had downloaded an HD res/golden trim mod beforehand. Credit to LetoKolente! (http://skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=549) (This is with them both on, see? It's not the most pleasing clippage.)http://i.imgur.com/r6Fus.jpg (And here is without the helmet. Not as noticeable but still, eeeh.)http://i.imgur.com/urGts.jpg
Calebhp95
Bumpity bump. I'm probably more desperate than I should be for a problem like this. OCD is a pain the butt.

TrueChaoS
I never noticed that clipping, so it may be related to your character's weight setting. On full weight, with an Orc at least, the back of the right arm clips with the shoulder plate. No screenshots of it right now, though.
Gnomebitten
I never noticed that clipping, so it may be related to your character's weight setting. On full weight, with an Orc at least, the back of the right arm clips with the shoulder plate. No screenshots of it right now, though. I tested this on every weight a Nord could have and it still messed up. Trying an Imperial and a Breton I got the same results, with the retexture and without. Something's definitely up. Gnomebitten
I talked to a friend of mine who does modeling and apparently this is likely an alignment error; that is, the armor is positioned too low and that's what causes the neck and shoulders to clip through. Came to this conclusion after comparing the ebony armor model to the ebony mail model, which doesn't have the problem, as well as experimenting with different sizes and races of characters. Hope knowing in advance might help any modders who would be willing to tweak it. Considering this is a pretty common glitch that's cross-platform, I'm hoping for a fix in the next update. A quick and dirty fix I figured out is just to extract the ebony armor and ebony mail meshes out to a folder and then swap them, but this only works if you want to use ebony armor and have no intention to ever use ebony mail and don't mind the lack of big pauldrons. Junea
for small nord women, the ebony mail shows the end of the necklace btw. >w< Edited November 26, 2011 by Junea
