Can't debug with XCom ModBuddy

Hello everyone. I'm currently having issue with debugging through XCom ModBuddy. When I chose debug, it gave me the screen to select the mod I want to test. But when I pressed play, it gave me Steam Error Application load error V:0000065432, with and without a mod selected. I can still play Xcom2 normally though. It appears that some people also have the same issue since the June patch. If anyone can help me, that would be a big help.

What I have tried:

1. Verify cache

2. Delete config folder

3.Reinstalled Xcom2 and Xcom2 SDK

4. Reinstalled Steam

Yup, this seems to be a widespread problem. I have it too. I've heard that starting ModBuddy as an administrator fixes the problem. I wasn't willing to do that, so instead I just run StartDebugging.bat from the Binaries/Win64/Launcher folder.

How did you accomplish that? I can't even find the correct executable.

Go to Steam\SteamApps\common\XCOM 2 SDK\Binaries\Win32\ModBuddy right click on 'XCOM ModBuddy.exe', choose Properties, go to the Compatability tab and check 'run this program as an administrator'.

I run everything admin and it's not working.

Really seems like the editor got busted as DLC got released and they haven't even cared to fix it.

The editor not working and debug not working are 2 entirely separate issues. They just both happened to be caused in the same update.

The debug issue requires you to run the SDK as an administrator, as discussed above. The Editor issue requires you to open \Steam\SteamApps\common\XCOM 2 SDK\XComGame\Config\XComEditorUserSettings.ini find the "[sourceControl]" section and set "Disabled=True".

Both issues have been covered in previous topics in this sub-forum. Here's the one about the Editor issue, which is where the above fix comes from.

I am the admin; every program runs with administrator privileges by default. It still isn't working.

Just to test, I tried to run mod buddy as administrator even through it wasn't needed. It now debugs properly and doesn't throw an "application error" as shown in the screenshot above.

In fact, I can run it normally again and it doesn't screw up anymore. Wtf?

I've never seen something like this happen. Firaxis continues their trend of being incompetent in technical design..

Edit: Running it through Steam is causing the error. Doesn't seem to have anything to do with administrator mode.

Then there's also this little problem: https://forums.2k.com/showthread.php?4285689-XCOM-2-editor-is-hardlocking-my-system

This whole thing is a mess.
