PoliteRaider
UPDATE: No longer need help, problem vanished as mysteriously as it appeared. So I'm currently taking one of my old mods and recreating it in the CK.http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10979/? I made the original with FO4Edit and it works fine in game. However with the same file structure in the CK the preview window is displaying the model with the missing texture purple colour. I don't know the CK as well as I did the earlier tools and so I haven't been able to figure out what I'm doing wrong. http://i.imgsafe.org/5a26cb2ae3.png As you can see, it's locating the material files that I specified in the .nif but for some reason not displaying the linked textures. These are the exact same material files that I used for the mod which worked previously, so I'm not sure why they're not working now. http://i.imgsafe.org/5a2eab47bb.png Edited July 13, 2016 by PoliteRaider
Gersidi76
Same thing happened to me last night, but probably a different circumstance. I had a custom outfit too and the textures in the CK loaded fine. I made another outfit the exact same way but they wouldnt load properly. Turns out the reason they loaded properly for me the first time was because even though I had the paths set correctly in the material file to the textures, and my nif pointed to the material file, I forgot that the nif actually points to the material file AND the original textures in their default location. So the nifs were loading textures from vanilla and ignoring the ref to the material file. Now the 2nd time I actually edited the nif correctly to my custom textures, and voila, they dont load properly. Odd. Load fine in-game though. PoliteRaider
Update: I just opened up the CK again and the problem has solved itself without any action on my part, unless it was saving and closing the CK that causes it to work. Thanks Gersidi, that's an easy mistake to made. I've done that sort of thing so many times. Last night I was testing a different mod and wondering why it wasn't working... it was because I hadn't switched it on. *facepalms* Not sure why it's not working in your CK, maybe it's like mine and will just start working again unexpectedly. Good luck with it.
