doddibot
Horses can jump. Not well, but they can. I'd like my horse to be able to TROT. They canter most of the time, can gallop for a while, or slow down to a walk, but no trotting.
Pineapplerum
Good ideas. And not being able to ride the horse first person is really messing me up. I keep walking off cliffs and bumping into things. I'm not good at riding a horse when I'm looking over my shoulder from far behind.
Kairo29
@Doddibot, can they rly?! I tried to make my horse jump the other day and nothing happened so I never tried again lol. Okay so an improved jump is what I'll change it to. Thanks. Yeah, a trot would be nice, up the realism and let our horse trot through non instanced towns. @Pineapplerum haha yeah i feel ur pain, its not always ideal
doddibot
You can't jump while galloping, and when you try to jump your horse waits a split second to change gait to prepare for the jump. It doesn't really feel natural at all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0Ib8D2XhFs&
Kairo29
I think jumping while galloping is a must. Maybe there needs to be a visual indicator or even an audio indicator (horse whinnying, snorting, sounding tired) of the horses stamina? LOL that vid is just...just so shameful. You're right, didn't look natural at all...Beth can do better! I'm positive the modding community can too.
piggyfrogg
I want the horse whistle or at least for ur horse to show up on the map, idk how many times he's run off when a dragon or something attacks, it takes me ages to find. just fast travel 1ns and he will be at the stable or at your side
BlackArmsShadow
Being able to call your horse with an ability or item, similarly to how you could summon your horse in the more recent Legend of Zelda games, the ability to jump while in full gallop and horse armor are the most obvious additions I can think of. Spacecraft
I agree, especially about the saddle bags. I hate having a companion with me, it'd be great to have my horse carry my loot.
securitywyrm
What I'd really like to see in a horse overhaul 1. Be able to cast clairvoyance and the 'light' spells while mounted.2. Be able to carry a torch while mounted.3. There's a standing stone called "The steed" which gives you more carry weight and reduced penalty from armor. Imagine if that also gave you a power that lets you summon a horse while in Skyrim.

Plus the aesthetic of galloping through a forest holding a torch is cool. Summoning a horse? Yeah, that sounds pretty cool. Maybe even a spectral horse! I'll add to OP
