Atrus1212
Hi I'm brand new to modding and have an issue that just arose. When I go to my settlement crafting I have no structures or decoration sections the list starts at Furniture and it ends with one that has the image of a Raider power armor helmet and says LOOKUP FAILED! in that section are 2 different raider cages and 1 spiked pole thats it... Everything was working fine until today when I noticed it. below is my load order any tips or help would be appreciated. Also I have LOOT installed and set up but for some reason NMM won't let me import a load order from it.... bill8872
You need Settlement Keyword Expanded to get homemaker to work correctly. When you install it, pick the exact same Homemaker files, and overwrite them. and place it SKE above Homemaker. Atrus1212
I didn't have it before and Homemaker isn't new for my mod list. I double checked every mod I have that has to do with settlements and Homemaker said with the last update SKE is no longer required and actually not recommended either but I'll give it a shot and see if that helps because they include a patch for people that still have SKE installed
Atrus1212
I tried installing SKE and it still was a broken menu. SKE added another section after the LOOKUP FAILED! section called SKE and it was incomplete at that (ie only 2 floor choices for wood, no walls for metal and no stairs for anything) I tried uninstalling all mods related to settlement crafting and the menu is still broken... see screenshots for what I mean (I realize now that I forgot about singing settler but I tried it and still broken... the LOOKUP FAILED! is the last choice in the menu) http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h68/atrus1212/ScreenShot3_zps1hrw50nc.png http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h68/atrus1212/ScreenShot4_zpsdpxck40x.png http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h68/atrus1212/ScreenShot5_zpsv1s44ybg.png http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h68/atrus1212/ScreenShot6_zpsn92lnune.png http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h68/atrus1212/ScreenShot7_zpssia1trga.png Edited July 15, 2016 by Atrus1212
Sharlikran
I know you were just trying bill8872's suggestion but for future screen shots please don't have SKE installed because I don't want people being mislead that SKE caused your issue. Whatever was happening with your menus happened before installing SKE. Thanks for trying SKE though it can help in most cases get multiple settlement mods to work but I think you have some other issues to resolve first. What version of Fallout 4 are you using? Have you ran the Steam "Verify integrity of game cache" routine? Lookup Failed is probably because of missing or incorrect strings files. If you are having an issue with the strings files, Steam will restore them when you verify your files with that routine. Naturally SKE doesn't have or need strings files nor will installing it erase them. Also I have done Option Two in this post. I suggest adding the "STRINGS" part since that's what I am using. It won't hurt to try it. Don't forget also that Bethesda is changing Fallout4.esm at will with complete disregard to how it breaks mods. You will need to be sure you are using a mod that is compatible with your current version of Fallout 4. If the mod requires a newer version of Fallout 4 then you are using then that might also cause the Lookup Failed. This is my menu though to show an example of how it should look. 1. Uninstall SKE completely and manually delete SettlementKeywords.esm if it's still in your data folder.2. Double check you have the original authors mods installed and not any SKE patches. Uninstall the settlement mod and reinstall it if you have to.3. From the files section download the Universal Menu Fixer at the link provided. Install it and review the authors instructions.4. Load a save game before you installed SKE. As the author of the Universal Menu Fixer suggests wait a minute or two. Then make a new save.5. After making a new save but before exiting the game do you have all the menus? Here is a list. Make sure you have all your menus before installing SKE because as mentioned in my latest sticky post I can no longer provide support and troubleshooting for other authors mods. If you think you are missing menus then you should disable your settlement mods and find out which one is causing the conflict. After you resolved all your menu issues then you can leave it that way or try SKE. If you do try SKE then follow what I mention in my latest sticky post specifically running LOOT and looking for errors or warnings. They are there to help make sure you have the proper files installed. LOOT will also display warnings for files you should not have installed. There is even a warning for when users forget to install the Homemaker patch and only select the additional HM patches. Also if you decide to use SKE then also follow my load order suggestions on my description page. Edited July 16, 2016 by Sharlikran
Atrus1212
Thanks Sharlikran for replying. Those screenshots were taken after SKE was tried and then uninstalled I verified it was completely removed along with all other settlement related mods aside from singing settler at the time of the screenshots which I then removed and tested again and still broken. I uninstalled all active mods and still broken. I used the Verify integrity in Steam and it was still broken after. I'm currently attempting a fresh install of Fallout just to be safe I'll give the strings thing a try if its still broken. I'm not sure how to check for what version of the game I'm running. I do use LOOT to make sure there are no issues and it never alerted me to any conflicts or issues with my mods... however what I'm unclear on is if it automatically updates the load order into NMM or if I have to because everytime I've tried to export from LOOT and import to NMM, NMM tells me there is no game file in the load order and it won't import the info.... Sharlikran
For LOOT don't worry about importing the load order. All I'm suggesting is to click sort to see any errors. Don't click Apply just click sort. For whatever reason LOOT won't display the errors unless you click sort first. To answer your question if you use 9.x of LOOT from the nexus and you have Fallout 4 1.5.157 or higher, with NMM closed, once you open NMM you should see the change. Just remember applying the sort is optional. As for checking your version, while in game go to settings and it's in the lower right corner. Don't forget to install the universal menu fixer and have the plugin active when you load your save game. I didn't suggest installing Fallout because there is probably something happening in the save game most likely. By all means finish your reinstall but be sure to use the menu fixer please. Just remember to let it run for a min and make a new save game. See if your menus look right after you run the menu fixer on an old save. Then uninstall the menu fixer. Atrus1212
I know you didn't suggest reinstalling that was something I started before I read your reply. I had uninstalled it last night and reinstalled it this afternoon. This whole PC gaming is new to me. I've been a console peasant my whole life until recently. checked the version and its V1.6.9.0.0 Edited July 16, 2016 by Atrus1212
wolfensteinchen
I have another problem. When I go to the settlement menu the only 3 submenus I get are crafting, cages and SKE. damanding
I have another problem. When I go to the settlement menu the only 3 submenus I get are crafting, cages and SKE. I tried to disable every single mod but nothing changed. Odds are good you improperly uninstalled a mod that uses scripts to add to the workshop menus. If you uninstall any mod which adds items to the workshop menu, first read their description for correct uninstall methods. To fix it try the Universal Menu Fixer located on the files tab of this tutorial. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12192/? Note the following as well. According to Steve40: "when uninstalling mods that use script-added menus, it is mandatory that you quit the game to the Windows desktop after deactivating the mod, before loading another save game. If you deactivated the mod using the vanilla MODS menu and immediately loaded up a save game without first quitting to the desktop and restarting FO4, the menu might be missing even if you used the proper uninstall chem/holoatape. The same rule applies when using missing menu fixer tools."
