rumpltumpskin
I am crashing a lot because of experiments with mod load order but I expected that. What I didn't expect was having to restart the PC after every crash. After a crash I alt tab out or ctrl alt del out to get the task manager but either way I can't find a way to kill the NV.exe, a black background comes up and the only time I can see my mouse pointer is by dragging it to the bottom of the screen at the task bar. I have tried right clicking and closing the NV icon on the task bar and nothing happens. When the Task Manager comes up I can't move the mouse over it directly but when I hover over the icon on the task bar I can use the arrow keys and tab to select different items. Now this is the weird part: I use the arrows to go over NV and hit enter to select then I tab down to end task. The button is highlighted but when I hit enter to end NV NOTHING HAPPENS!!! You might be able to sense that I am getting very frustrated especially since I never wanted 10 in the first place. I left the pc on and went away for the weekend then I came back and boom-Windows 10 I won't go into how many other problems that this has caused me here. If you have any ideas or need me to state my problem more clearly plz let me know.
dubiousintent
It sounds like you are running the game in "full screen" mode and even when you "alt+tab" or "ctrl+alt+del" the cursor is remaining trapped within the game screen. The game is known to be "wonky" if you "alt+tab" from full screen mode. Try running in "borderless windowed" mode at least until you get your CTDs resolved. If you have NVSE installed, try the "OneTweak" mod. You might want to look at your mouse controls if you are using an "advanced" driver to see if some setting isn't contributing to your "trapped" cursor problem. As you had an "involuntary" upgrade, there is no telling what all got changed. Updating your mouse driver may be the least of it. -Dubious- Edited July 17, 2016 by dubiousintent

jackshark2
What i do is go into task view right next to windows search bar, and go to a different desktop open task manager there and close it using that
macrude3
It's just not a Windows 10 Problem, if your OS copy is a licensed one. I have upgraded from Windows 8 to 10 for free and i played the game, it went well. may be you need to get a verified copy of Windows.
dubiousintent
What i do is go into task view right next to windows search bar, and go to a different desktop open task manager there and close it using thatWell, I am not using Win10 so there are undoubtedly subtleties I am not aware of. However, multi-desktops have been around for a while in Windows as part of the "Powertoys" addon. Based upon that experience, and what little I have read on the subject for Win10, it looks like each "desktop" is still merely a "separate instance" of the boot up environment. (Because you can't drag and drop between desktops among other things.) Which means each desktop doesn't know anything about what is going on in any other desktop. They are separate and unique. So your opening a new desktop to get at the task manager will not work to enable you to then kill the game program in another desktop. It won't know the game program is running ... because it isn't in that new desktop. -Dubious-
