Namf1
Hi guys Im new to the modding scene, having only dabbled in creation kit a little bit for Skyrim. I apologise in advance if this is on the wrong thread. I have some hi-res pictures I would like to make different packs for the picture frames you put on the wall. However I want to make them as standalone. Ive tried a looking at a few forums which mention nifskope. I'm a bit confused between textures and materials, whether I need to convert my JPEGS into DDS files or BGSM files. Plus Im not sure how I can create these using existing picture frames and then make the items standalone so it doesn't conflict with my other picture mods. Can anyone point me in the right direction of a tutorial dealing with picture frames or a step by step guide for us noobs? Thanks in advance guys. GatorByte
I wish could help you out but can only reassure you that message is being read. I have not been having much luck trying to incorporate Nifskope into my modding either. Errr.... You-Tube does have several videos about Nifskope but I couldnt find an actual tutorial, either. Thanx for asking though, maybe someone will catch and help us out
Namf1
Thanks GatorByte. Youre right, there is a lot of things on youtube mentioning nifskope and Bethesda Extractor etc. I have used these but so far been unsuccessful in trying to add my own pictures to the picture frames. (I dont really know what Im doing!) There doesnt seem to be anywhere that shows how to use these files and what format, how to copy the picture frames and make them so they dont overwrite existing pictures. Surely someone must have done this as there are pinup picture frames etc? I have some awesome space ones, tropical islands and supercars that I want. For my own taste and if they turn out well, I would share on nexus. Fallout 4 needs some colourful pictures!!

bill8872
I have not tried this, but there are a few art mods that have done what you're trying to do.I sure if you look at how they did it, you should be able to follow it.
shavkacagarikia
Open your creation kit, look for some pictures under statics,Open one of them, See where their model is located, You will need unpacker software (for example: Archive2) to unpack that file from fallout 4 - meshes.ba2, after unpacking open that file in nifskope. you will need both material bgsm with specular, diffuse and normal maps choosed (Open original bgsm of the file and edit it: changing fields for specular, normal and diffuse maps to your dds-es), also you have to write path to textures in nifskope too. Save it as new file. In creation kit create new static item and for model choose your file. now you will have to add that to workshop menu, I have never done that so look for some tutorials. damanding
To add an item to the workshop menu in CK browse to the Constructible Objects section, find an existing painting so you can see what keywords, construction/scrapping sounds, recipes, etc are used. You can either just edit an existing painting but change the static object it points to and the formid or create one from scratch. I find I make fewer errors if I just give a new ID and static pointer to an existing item.
