Elder Scrolls Multiplayer idea

Ever since I played Oblivion, I've had this idea that I hoped Bethesda would implement either by DLC or on their next new game in the series. Ever since participating in that "Arena" in the Imperial City, I've been wondering. Wouldn't it be awesome to have some sort of Online Arena/Colisseum, where it can be easily seen on the Single Player world? I'm sure I'm not the only one who has thought up of something like this before.

Imagine if you were skimming around the Arena in single player, and as you come closer and closer, you could hear louder and louder the sound of a huuuge croud cheering similar to football games/boxing fights. Inside, you could opt to spectate, or join the fray. Battles would probably be based on levels. Prizes could be done by betting, or just prizes/gold set by the game itself. Maybe even have unique stuff you can't get/make anywhere else. So many different possibilities. I dont care how the battles take place. If 1vs1, or 2vs2, or 4vsCPU. As long as you could have friends hop in and watch/fight, it should be fun.

I'm sure many, like me, do not wish to have the Single Player experience tarnished by Multiplayer. But the inclusion of a Multiplayer Arena should at least be an option for those who would like to feel like part of a bigger/living world. Of course, I'm sure Bethesda could be toying with the idea of an MMO (hopefully not!!), but at least this shouldn't be too much of a hurdle for them to make.

I joined this forum just to get this out of my chest. The way I've pictured it would be so awesome, that I just had to let it out.

No

I second this. No. It could never work right. Either bethesda would get single player right, and screw up multiplayer, or get multiplayer right and screw up singleplayer. And either way I would just prefer it be left alone. there are plenty of multiplayer RPG's out there and elder scrolls is not one of them for a reason.

funny how people never come to think what about mod conflicts between to people through co-op or an arena online thing...even though it will NEVER happen and the engine cannot handle it as it was not built for it, people have been trying to get multiplayer since morrowind as far as i remember, just stop asking and trying -.-

Side note, how come there is no arena feature in skyrim, there was in the last 2, i even have a mod for morrowind than extends the arena for the player lol, it would be awesome in skyrim to have battle to the deaths in a nordic manner! ( btw i do not mean the rome feeling as oblivion had for the arena and etc )

not to mention, how easy the console is.

can see the QQ from here already.

while the idea, is cool it most likely hurt the game then it's worth it

And I'll third it . WOT NO MODS? That would be a problem, and also, Elder Scrolls as a bastion of single player is somewhat sacred.
