Issues creating a Standalone Follower

Recommended Posts

Solved with the help of amazing nexus modder KunoMochi.

Apparently, without noticing, I made a few too many assumptions while following the follower creation guides and had assumed that I had to create a headpart and put my nifmerged face into it and then assign it to the actor. That is NOT the case. What I had to do instead was simply export my actor's face using CTRL + F4, and then nifmerge my racemenu face onto it and leave it as is, in the same file structure. The game/CK will then be set to look for the actor's mesh there with no additional configuration required. I have no idea why I did things the way I did but I am so glad that I've got this fixed now, and I hope this helps somebody in the future.

Thanks again, KunoMochi!

Hello, I'm trying to create a standalone follower and so far everything's going well, until I tried to import my face into the CK.

I used RaceMenu to export my character's head and the CK to export a head using CTRL + F4 and followed the nexus wiki guide to merge them together using Nifmerge. Before doing so I added the XML options the guide asked for and ticked the merge child nodes box and followed the instructions very carefully. However, this is the result as seen in the CK.

At first I thought this wasn't a big deal, but when I create an actor all I can see of its face are its teeth and eyes.

Googling the problem hasn't turned up any useful information. Either this is a rare occurrence or I'm lousy at wording my searches.

I have uploaded the two meshes that I am trying to merge. Jiara3.nif is my RaceMenu export, and 00003DF8.nif is my export from the Creation Kit.

When I try to use the completed headpart on a character this is the result:

If anyone point me in the right direction to help me solve this problem I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Man, I have the same problem! Kinda humorous in a way. All that work and you have a couple of eyes and a mouth hanging in mid air. Mine is worse - no skin either.

How did you fix this???
